I don't think the Cup will ever regain its magic. Usually during the game I am on tenterhooks. Today I'm interested, but not crapping myself every time they come into our half. The thing I'm most worried about now is an injury to Pukki, Emi, Max, or one of the centre backs.
Nice win, I thought the young Keeper made a few good saves as well. Professional job done.... Next...
If the opposition are not allowed to kick us off the park we can ping the ball about all day . Professional performance
Good result, but disappointed in 2nd half. Coventry were far the better team. Still, job done. Move on
Wait and see on Zimmerman, but otherwise - job done. Goal for Hugill, Placheta with early influence, Sorensen got to show what he could do in midfield, and Mumba, Quintilla, Gibson stepping up their returns. Very nice from Barden too. Hope that we can use our next-round tie in a similar fashion. Buendia and Aarons cup-tied...Shame.
Barden was WhoScored's MotM with a rating of 8.3, so great for his confidence. McLean was next highest with 7.7. Good for players to get a rest as more come back from injury and do well.
"Thank you!" Duncan for finding that stream. I was resigned to just listening to the RN commentary. Plenty of positives, but Barden impressed most of all -- completely unflustered, excellent distribution for the most part, sure hands and great reflexes when needed. Quintilla took up as he left off; Sørensen comfortable - there's a mature head on those young shoulders; Todd a constant thorn in Coventry's side, earning him the sort of treatment usually handed out to Emi. For the Sky Blues, Hamer fulfilled all expectations; as Whoscored puts it "Discipline: Weak, Commits fouls often". (Please can someone quote me so that Duncan receives the "Thank you!" )
Hugill on his own in the area for his goal. Pancetta did very well to find him in amongst the Coventry players. Great cross and header. Lovely stuff
That stream should probably have it's own thread. If it brightened up RobbieBB's day by just 10% compared to listening to the action on RN and reduced the chances of him moaning about expected goals for a few minutes. Then we were all given a gift with that miraculous stream . Unless you aren't too cheap to pay for BT sports that is .
It's his score prediction arriving a bit late, but as cup games aren't included in the Prediction League, it's of little consequence. Sorry about that, HMQC.
And I suppose putting it up several hours after the final whistle is an issue too. You're very strict
I've not got a brilliant record in the predictions league to be fair but I was quietly confident about that one. Shame.
