Can’t you blame the lad? Playing under Steve Bruce’s beautiful tactics is every young lads dream.

This is a because of treatment of his Dad. Save a few quid but lose a youth prospect because of it embarrassing, it was bad enough to do what they did.

Out of interest have they replaced the hitman with someone to do it cheaper. I don't see it as a job they can do without?

The Daily Hate, sorry Heil, sorry Mail with a story to give us a kicking, what a surprise. Not defending the club for what they did with Cooke (just wrong, unpleasant, un-necessary and unforgivable), but slagging your employer off on social media doesn't give you much room for movement. If I did it I'd be risking a disciplinary and potentially losing my job over it, so him moving to another club was always on the cards. It's sad he's gone, particularly with the takeover coming through as it hadn't given the new regime a chance to repair the damage Donald and Co have done to us, but we need to move on to hopefully better things.

So he signs for the Mags - lovely move for him. I don't know the full story with his dad, it seemed rotten but to turn to the dark side is a full Darth Vader

He’s the one who simply came out and slagged the club for his dad’s “sacking”

Hus dad wasn’t sacked at all. Being sacked is something that happens when you are a failure at your job. He was made redundant. Ie the role changed and was no longer suitable. Probably got a nice golden handshake too no doubt.

his dad was considering suing but seems nothing came of that iirc

the lad is a prick from what I can see. In a place he belongs

edit... besides, it seems the biggest issue he had was that his dad didn’t get some big full page on the SAFC Site fir being made redundant!

There's a lot of incredibly entitled ****s out there at the moment.

I'm appalled at seeing the rich and the famous just jetting off to spend lockdown in the Caribbean. Then complaining that they have to provide a negative test when they decide to come back and be amongst the peasants.

I noticed the other day Lanzini got caught out at a party and in turn decided to donate to a local foodbank as penance.

You're giving back to the community because you got caught being a ****? Forgive me if I don't clammer for your honorary knighthood.

People are actually going through a hard time at the moment. The amount of solidarity shown towards them is such a ****ing shame.

They can’t just “replace” him! He was made redundant. It’s illegal to make a person redundant as you have to make the role as it is redundant. I believe they changed the role or combined 2 into 1. He probably got a handsome payout for redundancy after that much service.

This. They changed the job description making the kit manager role redundant, the kit man role for the club is being done currently by the under 23 kit man. It merged to 2 jobs into one, effectively leaving one of them spare. He was also offered redeployment which he reportedly turned down, which means they can then offer him redundancy. The rights and wrongs of how its been handled and whether it was the right thing to do have been discussed previously and personally I think it was a ****ty thing to do and how it was done, but it's been done and as you say, he probably got a decent pay out. But the way his sons behaved is stupid. Most employers these days have a standards of behaviour policy, slagging your employer off on social media can easily be seen as breaching that and bringing your employers reputation into disrepute. If I did it I know I'd be on a disciplinary chargeand could go as far a lose my job over it. The same applies to most people, what made him think he was helping or it was going to help his dad by doing it?

Was he actually any good? For obvious reasons I haven't seen much of the u23s and haven't been following them as much as I normally do but I was under the impression he was often just a sub. Certainly he's not one I've heard about in terms of being near to breaking through or being particularly highly rated. Half wondering if the mags aren't just using him for a cheap bit of PR (Sunderland were nasty but we took him)
