Not sure how old it is but started reading this book the yesterday - just got to the bit about his City days. So far an enjoyable and honest account of life as a struggling footballer. A good read and a bit of City in it as well. Recommended.
At first, i read the title of the thread and thought you hated the bloke. You didn't sing "the wheels on your house go round and round" to him, did you?
I think I may have done a couple of times. Perhaps I should have put Where's your caravan book as thread title.
i liked chris when he played for city and he also did a very good job @ torquay utd when they got back into the league. the caravan song was sung at Lee the Chesterfield gk a few weeks ago.
I heard Chris Hargreaves on Radio 4 a couple of weeks ago - he was talking about the life of a footballer in the lower leagues. He didn't specifically mention his time at City but commented that he'd enjoyed his time at every club he'd played for. I think he has a coaching role now (possibly at Exeter) and he came across as very intellligent and articulate - sounds like his book is well worth reading.
Watched him get taken off at Cambridge late in the second half. We left on the whistle, drove straight back to the Green Dragon in Bev, and he was sat at the bar on his 3rd pint
