Any guitarist's on the forum? Myself been playing for 30 years in bands in the late 80s through to the mid 90s. I'm a lefty so always been limited to guitars I can buy. Favourite guitar I have is my 74 telecaster and my PRS a close second. Love playing a bit rock on my SG also!
Haven’t picked up a guitar in about 30 years. And I was pretty useless when I did. Wish I’d stuck at it but c’est la vie as they say.
Marcus plays, and he knows all the guitarists think Comfy plays as well and the guy that has an hand drawn eye as his avatar cant think of his name
Started 6 months before my 60th so left it a bit late but took lessons and realised its all about practice. Have a Fender Highway 1, a PRS a Taylor nylon strung acoustic and a Gordon Giltrap signature. Play them all apart from the strat which I'm about to upgrade the pups on. Strangely while I'm right handed I play left handed which I was advised against but it just felt right. Wish I'd started when I was young
Who'd you recommend, I'm late fifties with no intention of playing live, would just love to be able to play?
Aye true!! Been playing since I was 18 but I'm a singer who plays guitar rather than a "guitarist" (Those who play will know exactly what I mean) - More a rhythm guitarist who can play a bit of lead - said the other day this new year just gone is the first in 27 years where I haven't gigged! In a duo called Revolver now with a lad called Alan Williamson on lead guitar. Love gigging! Miss it so much!!!
I've a Bass with a 35 amplifier, and an acoustic cheap one. Totally hopeless!! Just dont seem to have the time to practice. My brother is the guitarist in the family and he's canny good.
I've tried on and off for years, i currently have an Epiphone SG400pro, a Yamaha acoustic, and a strat style one which i built myself. I think they are all broken, I cant get a tune out of any of them. Can't play for ****. Would love to, just can't!!
My son bought me a Yamaha acoustic for Christmas, I literally have 15 minutes worth of experience on. Anyone recommend any online tutorials etc.. for me to learn to play
I started playing after realising what I was missing when abroad. No talent, play notes and not music but still very satisfying. Never played in public, for which the public are very thankful.
I play ! I have two strats I put together myself (if you look at my avatar you’ll see why I play strats ) also have an epiphone 335 and two Telecasters, which I love. Been playing since I was 14 ,on a westone concord 1 ( which I still have) . One of the Best things I have done is learning to play , a friend and a passion for life.
I was taking lessons in my early twenties, then smashed a couple of fingers on my left hand in an accident at work, my biggest regret in life is that I couldn't continue with the lessons. I envy anyone who can play at any level.
