I honestly know nought about Murray. However, do strikers necessarily need "legs?" Did big Matt Smith ever have legs? He was the slowest player on the pitch in every game but still managed to be one of our top scorers during his time. I'd say positioning and awareness are more important. The question is: does Murray have other strong qualities to overcome the fact his legs have gone.
Spot on, didn't a 37yr old Kevin Phillips still score goals in top flight? If you know where the net is you will score... he does.
If we're looking for old strikers I hear Geoff Hurst is available, he could do 10 minutes of goal-hanging...
What grinds with me about QPR is that Arsenal/Spurs and Chelsea have a load of top young talent and we are not tapping into it. My Arsenal mate keeps banging on about the fab young players they have.
What happened to that relationship we used to have with Chelsea? And Spurs, for that matter. We used to loan a lot of their hoarded players. They don't seem to know we exist anymore.
That was the strategy when we brought in Amos and small Matt Smith on loan. They do have lots of great young players but some of the loan fees demanded are eye-watering.
Selling Smith was another example of Warburton only wanting to play one way imo. Even the world's top coaches aren't against going route one if nothing else is working and they're chasing a goal.
