If you are so bothered why not put Smug on ignore and find someone else to have some meaningful discussions with and I am sure he can do the same as this bickering reflects badly on the Forum .

I never thought of them till now. They must be so disappointed that fans aren't allowed in stadiums at the moment. They can't follow us around like lost little sheep, sitting in the home end for all our away days. Wanting, nay, craving the attention that being a Shrewsbury fans BFF for 90 minutes will give them. Hoping that we end up drawing 1-1, so they can celebrate it like an F.A Cup final win.

As long as we're watching that's all that matters tbh.

However, I was discussing this with one of the RAWA lads and I think that the owner should make sure that all Sunderland supporters are addressed at the same time.

Not everyone has Sky, or uses social media.

I think that there should be a press release to TV, radio, club website, fans groups and other media at the same time.

We need to get the media back on our side and avoid the Donald style antagonism that we've suffered from.

We also need to engage all supporters, not the ALS/RR elitism that Donald loved so much.

New to the site so no abuse please haha. Lad I work with his son used to be at the acdemey with Dan Neil, bali mumba, and he knows the Embleton family well. Was telling me about a month ago Elliott could be leaving and going to Bristol City so I'm not sure if that's one of the teams you've heard smug. Elliot doesn't want to go so not sure why club selling him when we don't need the money anymore.

Cheers mate. Not one to post really but when seen your post about elliott Embleton just thought I would back you up as you get a bit of **** of ppl for no reason. Lad at work got no reason to talk crap so I believe him about Bristol City. Just bit shocked we would let him go with him been young and ideal replacement for maguire in my eyes.

I'm happy enough with Embleton going tbh. We've got people involved now who are very happy to give youth a chance and a pathway. If they've looked at Embleton and decided not to keep him, fair enough. I like the fact that he's two footed, but he's not a really young kid any more. At this age he needs to be good enough to be impacting games. Instead (not his fault I know) he seems to get regular injuries which hamper both his development and his chances of getting a run in the side. Again, also not his fault, but in the few chances that he's had he hasn't done enough to stand out. If he had a couple of years left I'd want us to keep him. As it is we need to decide now if he's worth a new contract when things will be tight simply due to the wage cap. I'm not sure that he justifies taking some of it tbh. If he was looking really good in training and the likes I'm sure that both Speakman and Johnson would want to keep him. I hope that he manages to put his injuries behind him mind, there's definitely a footballer in there.

If this rumour has any substance, I fear for our academy, we have ignored our home produced players recently to a degree that is frankly criminal. Elliot is a class act and is only now starting to find his feet after a long injury, so he should be offered an extension to his contract now and shielded from this damaging uncertainty. If he cant break into the first eleven this season he should go out on loan as part of his development with us, not sold or written off at the first opportunity, as per usual, and replacing them with players not fit for purpose in many cases, which makes no sense whatsoever.

It's a funny one with Embleton. Gifted player but we haven't seen him create or score many.

Is he a victim of there being too many players like him? By that, I mean having the talent to be an asset but not delivering very much.

Tin hat on here but from the few games Embleton has played I don’t think he works hard enough or is aggressive enough to play the way Johnson wants to play, great set pieces and decent enough on the ball but does he track back and tackle enough? Sad to see any home grown talent go but he’s at an age now he needs to play week in week out! Without doubt the lads a talent but does he use it enough!

These are all good points, but only three years ago he was starring for England U20's, he did well out on loan and then has had a long spell out with injury, we have not seen anywhere near enough of him yet to decide one way or another, and I would be surprised if LJ has tbh.
