just had a phone call and found out the grandfather of an ex city player died of covid and while he was ill his son and daughters caught it and all became ill and the son died early december. i used to hang around with him as a youth but haven't seen him for 40 years so its not exactly heartbreaking for me but he used to live bricknell ave area which i saw referenced a couple of pages ago. my 86 yr old father in law due for his second jab tomorrow night is too ill to go. we've ordered a covid home test kit for him just fingers crossed he doesnt get any worse. loads of folk wont know anyone who has suffered and i have a pal who reckons the whole thing is overcooked as he only had a blocked nostril for 2 days. i can see why some people think this way my wife says they should go visit her ward and then they turn round and say well the clock was ticking for most of them anyway.......
Hope your Dad is ok I spoke to two people today who had colleagues die of covid (not in our area) One early 50’s one in their 20’s. Neither had a ‘clock ticking’ for them
Never is these days.Hosted by an ignorant person that asks questions and cuts answers half way through!!
Yes,I hope your Father in Law is o.k.I have heard of people having it but mostly a mild version.I don't know why people say these things about the elderly but maybe it's your 'pal' that needs a tour of your wife's ward?
The Mrs had it at the beginning of November , by rights due to the fact I live with her I think I have had it too , she had mild symptoms , I had none , now though I have all the symptoms of long covid from fatigue, brain fog, breathlessness etc ... Long covid is not fun , believe me
Tier 6 in D.C. The scourge has mutated again - a more virulent version with an odd hairstyle. Fore !!! Yep, I know, it aint Friday yet.
cheers ric and dennisbooth, i cant go into too much detail but you wouldnt believe my 'pal' works in the healthcare industry he's the kind that says people with depression should man up. ive given up even trying to talk to him. he's never gonna change. father in law seems no worse today wish i could say the same. man flu always does me in.
The total number of COVID deaths in Hull area hospitals just passed 500. To be honest, I expected it to be much higher by now.
COVID-19: New 'life-saving' treatment can reduce risk of death by 24%, government announces Tocilizumab and sarilumab are already used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and are readily available on the NHS.
Death rate still rising, but new cases on the decrease despite what some claim is the highest number of people tested. Maybe we're starting to turn that corner, and will accelerate around it as the vaccine numbers increase. please log in to view this image
So, here goes....after all the recent School/teacher bashing, some excellence to celebrate, at the same time, not too proud to beg for help if anyone finds able/possible; Following the late announcement by Bojo, late Mond eve, our Remote Learning Plan has been actioned and is live - SEND provision delivered to children, 70 Chromebooks loaned to families within 24 hours, FSM provision put in place, Critical Worker and Vulnerable Children provision implemented. Wednesday, we had 179/205 children access LIVE remote teaching from their amazing teachers. That’s 87%!!! 34 children at school and 145 at home. Today, Thursday, we have 195/205 children accessing our fantastic remote learning platform - delivered by teachers teaching remotely. Over 95% remote learning attendance, 44 children in School and 151 at home. We want more! We are frustrated, however, that we have reached the maximum capacity of our existing chrome books/laptop equipment to loan out, and to achieve our aim of 100% remote learning engagement by pupils, we desperately need further units of equipment to enable each child use of a chrome book. Under the Government's publicised School laptop scheme last year, of our promised award of an allocation of 17 laptops, to date sadly we have received NONE. We are passionate that no child is left behind in education in our School, and that all children are afforded the same opportunities. Members of our local community have even established a "go fund me scheme" to assist in our drive to deliver our aims and ensure that every child has the same opportunity to learn remotely. We have also been working with LetsLocalise, a charitable foundation organisation, to try and help. I appreciate it is a very tough time for everyone, for multiple reasons, but if anyone does feel able or willing to help our cause, with donations of any chrome books or contributions towards, please get in touch by dm. Thank you for reading, much appreciated.
I think it’s a shame you’ve chosen to see it as teacher bashing! the rest is a good post. hows the PE teacher doing?
-> Maybe we're starting to turn that corner, and will accelerate around it as the vaccine numbers increase. Go steady, it's damn icy out there.
Ha ha, when she has sobered up, stopped binge eating her Christmas Chocs & binge watching Netflix, I’ll let you know! As we’re a Primary School, there is no designated subject teachers, like in Senior Schools, the class teacher teaches the class the whole curriculum, no hiding places!
