Very controlled performance and ultimately a well managed game that could have been a major banana skin. Hope Højbjerg is ok but hopefully him, Kane, Son, Tanguy and a couple of others can have 8 days off and get some rest in the legs. I have no doubt we’ll see them on the bench against Marine but with any luck they won’t have to play.

Spurs are on their way to Wembley!

That's brave, assuming the season won't be Null & Void just to annoy us...

Sure, but in recent years, you've had a good record against Pep's City, including knocking them out of the CL. And they've not beaten you for nearly 2 years now. You've also won consecutive games against them.

Neither team will be 'easy' I'm sure, however, City seem to be the team who struggle against you more.

Sissoko with a deserved MOTM award I think. Up and down most of the game and opened the scoring with a brilliant header.

The goal literally turned his game around. Aurier also got better the longer it went on.
Sanchez had another iffy night however and was lucky not to concede a penalty. Caught wrong side (again) and lunged in. Fortunately the Brentford fwd was more intent on crossing it.

I got a bit bored in the first half and almost fell asleep!

I thought Sissoko was brilliant today. Excellent goal but also great play in midfield and excellent passing and ball control.

I hope Højbjerg is okay. There can be hidden damage with tackles like that. I had a far less severe injury than that and somehow ended up with a compartment fracture back in the day.

Hopefully Højbjerg is fine, I assume if they were really worried then he’d be in the medical room or have some wrapping or a cast on the leg by now.

I liked the way Højbjerg tried to get back on the pitch and Jose having to stop him.

    I liked Dier’s interview where he said “he’s a big boy I’m sure he’ll be fine” <laugh>
