Both lovely goals. But I do slightly question the keeper on both.

Ha, not as bad as the bloke sat next to me against Villa a few years ago.

He came back and had missed all of Sadio Mane's hatrick <laugh>

11 years ago we were in League One so we should just be happy to be on the same pitch as Arsenal

There are currently 8 teams on pace for 65+ points, and 0 teams on pace for 80+. 66 points was good for 3rd and CL last year...on current pace it'd slot you in next to Villa.

    Current pace for anyone curious:

    Man U - 78
    Liverpool - 74
    Man City - 73
    Leicester - 72
    Spurs - 69
    Everton - 69
    Villa - 66
    Saints - 65

The season this resembles most, by far, is 2015-16...when Leicester won the title and we ended up three points off CL.

Interestingly (for me, at least) after the first two months of the season featured goalfests with incredibly variable results, the next two months have featured really low-scoring games...with incredibly variable results. Whether matches are 4-3 or 1-0, we're apparently going to get weird.

I was at my local chip shop at the weekend and I was wearing my Southampton face covering.

The bloke serving started spouting off, saying he is a man utd fan and how they are coming good and going to win the league again. Whilst waiting for fresh chips all I could hear was man utd blah, blah, blah.

Then (the dirty b@stard) asked me, Are Southampton in the championship or premier league?
WHAT, WHAT. A man utd 'fan' who's team beat Southampton in the premier league a month earlier didn't even recall the game and takes no notice of the league to know we play in it.

I felt like shoving a jumbo battered sausage in his gob. But I actually feel sorry for these glory hunting supporters that are only interested in Wembley appearances and trophies rather that a wet Tuesday night at Stoke.

These sort of people, I can't call them fans may give it large on the glory but do not go through the emotions of supporting a team, living and breathing every minute of a game, going through the lows as well as the highs, where they expect to win each game. These people are missing out on nights like we experienced Monday night. The thrill of upsetting the odds, seeing players develop, improving as a team.

Anyway, the food was good and we March on.

The terms of the Burnley takeover look shocking to say the least - can only think this will end badly.

    In summary:
ALK bought the club for £150m
£80m of that came from a loan from MSD
£55m came from the cash already in Burnley's accounts
ALK put in the remaining £15m

Burnley have gone from being a club with £55m cash in the bank to £80m in debt overnight. They are 5 points from relegation.
