Due to Wigan players falling victim to Covid. Surely be a perfect opportunity for us to play them with us both not having a games. Would this be allowed with it being such short notice??

I would think it would d be mate, and the club are supposed to be seeing they can get some of these games sorted out soon. But my guess is the EFL wont agree to it.

I'd rather wait - give LJ time with the team.

if he waits he needs to rest Wyke Graham ,Grigg's injured ,so give the new guy and Benji if he is fit a few games playing together, we have to try some thing because this strike force we have is woeful, a few training games with a rejuvenated side who want to fight for the shirt, and who have a bit more guile and skill than this present bunch of turds would be beneficial. I would not play Power again he is crap, and gives the ball away to easy Scowen does not convince me either I think Leadbitter and Embleton are the way forward. The defence is sound and will be a lot better with a decent midfield.

Unless the clubs, and EFL, get matches arranged it could become another log jam.

We can't be worrying about injuries etc, imo.

Hull to Sunderland is less than 3 hours and there are no spectator issues so very little to arrange.

As long as teams have a few days to work on tactics etc you'd think they'd just want to get them played. Alas nothing is ever as simple as it should be. I'm still amazed that they're bothering with the Papa John's ****e this season tbh. Fans (final aside) weren't arsed at the best of times, the teams weakened as much as possible. Its just a waste of what could have been a good number of match days. It was obvious that we needed to concentrate on getting through the league programme. I kind of get not wanting to cancel the FA Cup, but everything else domestically should have been sacrificed this season. If not they should at least be flexible around rearranging fixtures, but they probably won't be.

I understand that they have contracts and sponsorship agreements they need to fulfill, but I totally agree with you about the Checkatrade/leasing.com/Papa John's/Rich Energy Cup ( joke, but I could seriously see them signing up to an agreement with him to sponsor it). It should have been cancelled this season with the league made priority, if they couldn’t cancel it they should have let everyone be able to field youth teams and got it over and done with right at the start of the season. But this is the EFL, they'll probably start looking at penalising teams for fielding under strength teams.

the Accy boss wants the season to finish in June but i doubt that will happen. In these circumstances we need to play tomorrow night ! So we need Marquis from Pompey for starters take a couple of Man city/Arsenal youngsters on loan. Has there been any mention to how much Lee can spend ? i hope we did not take that £375,000 'gift' either that would stop us signing. how these layers cannot just stick with the rules all they have to do is stop in the frigging house like we do, they haven't got to go down a pit for a 8 hour shift or the shipyards. Get some decorating done or a sort out, jigsaw puzzles are a brilliant way of keeping you occupied. This touchy/hug thing when a goal is scored is worrying on the pitch as well should just put their thumb up when they score.

Didn’t we have a game brought forward a few weeks back when we had no game on cup weekend? Can’t be that difficult to sort out.

I’m not so sure £375k stops us signing players. Applying for a monitored grant would come with transfer and wage restrictions but not the handout.

It would make total sense to do this, but I'll not hold my breath.

When there are no fans involved there is no reason at all that games can’t be rearranged within a day or two. Look at the teams who aren’t isolating and have had games postponed due to the opposition and let them play each other, if for example we have played them already at home then we play them away. That would free up a fixture slot further down the line also

However I very much doubt this idea has even been brought up by the EFL, they are utterly incompetent.

The problem with that is it too obvious and easy to do for the totally inept Efl to think about doing. If the clubs involved agreed what would be the issue with just doing it, maybe calling a few stewards in and a few policemen,st John's in.

These next 3 to 4 weeks will be crucial in my opionion. If more and more games get postponed and teams start getting 8/9 games behind the EFL will have to make a decision to either extend the season or sack it off

Apparently, we put in a request with the EFL for our game to be played on Saturday, I doubt we did it without discussing it with you first, so I'd assume both clubs have put in the same request. The word on Monday was that it was unlikely to be accepted, but maybe that's changed.
