Crucial to regain some impetus tomorrow. That table is very, very tight and citeh are getting close again now. Must be a win.
A win would be a psychological boost for us. Anything else would be a massive one too for the Manchester clubs. It is not as tight as it seems. Some teams are falling back with a gap appearing this weekend. We have 3 teams at the top (LFC and Manchester clubs assuming City win their game in hand) separated by one point. And the others about 3-4 points behind.
McCarthy is out for the Saints after testing positive for Covid, watch the reserve keeper play a blinder!!
Its the standard. And then the next game he'll make a load of mistakes and probably throw one into his own net
This is a benchmark for Liverpool. We [Southampton] have only lost to top four sides: Man U and C, plus Spurs. I suspect that you will have a little too much for us too. However, the Arsenal's and Chelsea's have not beaten us this season.
I'm expecting a tough game, but we will take you seriously - I don't think you'll see the complacency from us that tends to creep in against the "lower" sides. Anyway can we have the points regardless please? Unless you'd rather see Man U top the league, of course.
It'll be a tough game. We're not the Liverpool of last season. Of course, if we click like we did against Palace, Wolves and Leicester then it could be a tough day for you guys. Unlikely though, we're bang out if form atm.
It's only two poor games since we stuffed Palace, so not "out of form" as such, imo. It's just that we're blowing hot and cold - and have been since the title was won last year, tbh.
I'd be just as worried about Ward Prowse and his dead ball ability. Is he fit and available for tonights game?
Who knows which Liverpool turns up. Will we be Liverpool the reigning Champions showing up to play? Or will we be impersonating Everton again? Soton good enough to punish us if the wrong Liverpool show up.
