Thanks so much for sending this. Yeah, I need to think where to stick it. Maybe a couple of posters on here could direct me with that
Edit, already covered by others, I was busy getting a pot of coffee brewed to fuel Mrs Jab whilst cooking udang pedas saus tiram (prawns in a spicy oyster sauce) defuckinglicious!
I'll ask my Dad, and get him to ask his Dr why no tests were done, especially when he was admitted to a ward with 5 other people.
My sceptical head tells me that this is all about headlines. Better to say, for example, 6 million people vaccinated than 3 million. The effectiveness of the vaccine, when not implemented in the way the manufacturers suggest, needs to be fully investigated before it happens otherwise it negates the need for any future drugs passing rigorous testing. The below report suggests that not giving the vaccine in the correct manner could render it worthless. https://skwawkbox.org/2020/12/31/le...will-do-little-but-destroy-its-effectiveness/
Derek Lowe writes some very good articles about the vaccines. He is a scientist and translates the science information into articles for the general public.
Billy, if you have access to one, or a fitness bike machine, try cycling if you have a back problem. It may be better for the back. Check with a physio though and see what they say. Sadly I gave my treadmill away about three or four years back.
Thanks, I tried cycling on a machine, stretched before and after, only cycled 20 mins, each time I woke up on the night in agony, could vary walk for days. Like you, I thought it would be ok, but not sure why but it didnt, I had to rehome the bike. I'm doing very light jogging, managed between 5-10 mins 4 times in the past week, so easing in (as I tried with the bike). Touch wood, it's not so bad, but I hate running with a passion and love cycling. Do you think I could have done anything different with the bike? I didn't go fast, but faster than what I'm doing with running.
I think cycling outdoors is always a better than cycling on a machine. Even if you have bought the best of the st cycling machines. If you bought a low-end machine, see if you know someone or a gym where you can try a high end one as that may make a difference. (Once Covid allows) If it’s outdoor cycling, what bike was it? The wrong bike (or indoor machine) can sometimes just not be worth it as set up and positioning of saddle, frame, handle bars, etc., can make a difference. Every person is different so be careful following a non-expert’s advise (that’s me!). I may be teaching Granny to sick eggs here, but have you tired a routine of stretches everyday, for a period of a few weeks before even starting cycling or running? It may be you need to go back a step and correct any back issues first. best advice would be to visit a sports physiotherapist and explain the problem and what you want to achieve. They’ll at least identify the issue and then point out the road to recovery. That will cost initially and you need to be able to visits them, but if affordable to you, worth having that first step done. I’d also check out your work station, especially if you’ve been working at home more than usual.
Thanks so much for taking the time out to give me the info. It was a high end indoor machine, but I never got on with the saddle, it was so painful on my tushy! I think your suggestion to see someone is a great idea, as I dont believe I should be limited to doing nothing at all for the rest of my days! I have also been thinking about taking up Yoga or Pilates, thought that may help, especially if it let's me cycle and not run. Thanks for the info!
Hi Billy - I have back problems, and have found the way around it for me was to use a recumbent exercise bike (one with a back on the saddle so you can sit and chill!) They’re generally used for people recovering from injury etc so may be worth investigating for you. I have a Schwinn 570 and it’s fab.
