Maybe they will, if Ant is offering to drive them home....

Nothing like twisting a non story to keep it going to sell newspapers/get Internet clicks for advertising!

The truth is, the Reubens brothers have an estimated net worth of £16 billion. They could buy the Mags for Ashley's asking price easily, so why are they wanting the Saudis involved? My own guess is that they aren't interested in owning the Mags, but more about owning and being involved in developments and land in Newcastle. I know that there were plans for up market apartments behind the Leazes end, going to be called No. 1 St James Park, from about 15 years or so ago. I can see if that can still be applicable, and other parts around Sid James can be developed that that is where their interests are. I know they already own Newcastle racecourse, so maybe their interests are expanding their property portfolio piggy backed on having a stake in the Mags, rather than being involved with the club fully.

It'll be a land deal disguised as an investment, they already own lots of Newcastle.

Sadly they'll never own SJP, no one but the City ever will.

Yeah, they'll never own Sid James Park, but getting involved in land and developments around there in the guise of "investment" in the local area is likely in my opinion.
Staveley is no more than Donald in high heels and a skirt (horrible image, try not to think about it too much or you might have nightmares), she hasn't got the wealth herself to buy them and relies on and trades on having connections with others. Saying that, her court case and some rumours floating around now say that she's not as connected or influential as she tries to portray herself as. I doubt the EPL are going to budge, particularly regarding the TV piracy in Saudi, and the focus on the Saudis human rights record is only going to get stronger. So to me, its a dead deal, so why aren't her and the Reubens working on a deal without the Saudis?

Staveley flirted with all the Arabs around Windsor, etc, and 'fixed things for them' ...

... she's since pulled in favours but her credibility is wearing thin.

the Reubens are very shrewd operators, who own a lot of areas of land around newcastle. Now just suppose Amanda and her group can find a group of arabs who can convince the Geordie nation of a Man City type project, ( city built a new stadium, training stadium, 20 full size training pitches and a huge swaith of new houses, shops and offices which will help to fund the club for years) the key to all this would be finding a piece of land big enough for their project. If the Reubens already have such a plot capable of this sized development, and Queen Amanda can sell the dream to both the fans and the Arabs, this is where the Reubens come into their own. They would easily fund the demolition cost of St. James to secure redevelopment rights of what would be a massive piece of city centre real estate . The City of Newcastle would still own the land and rental incomes, the Reubens would profit from the redevelopment and the sale of the new site, and the brainwashed orks would get their new spiritual home and somewhere to hang those ****ing gates at last. It would of course have to be an out of town development due to the amount of land required, so it wouldn't surprise me if the Reubens already have such an area earmarked. This is why I believe they haven't shown any inclination to step in and buy the club themselves, they're not interested, they have eyes on the bigger picture, it's what they do best. I also think this is why Ashley has sold on the bits of land he had bought around gallowgate in case it had been feasible to somehow extend St. James' park, he no longer needs them, and he's patiently waiting to get his price for the club, knowing that he gets to walk away from any expensive stadium repair costs which have been quietly simmering in the background for years. All the pieces of the jigsaw are ready to assemble, they just need the wich awab man to turn up with the box lid, and the money!

The Mags believe they're prime targets for a takeover because of the fans, the football and the ground.

In reality they're a target despite those things.

Aye. As much as it pains me to say it, NUFC are a big club and are well supported. Like every football club there will be supporters who the vast majority will think are utter cretins but who shout down everyone else.

There's always been loons, there was one who used to get in the Sappers who'd announce that Gabbiadini had been sold or that Phillips had broken his leg. He'd be tolerated but generally ignored.

But now these mentalists have the internet, and social media, they've become much more dangerous. Newcastle are the worst and have, inevitably, become known as delusional, needy whingers who have a totally exaggerated opinion of themselves and their club.

This is what worries me when our own 'fans groups' start speaking, on our behalf, about our demands and standards. It may look good to the members but it looks pompous and conceited to people looking in.

As an exile I can see that ...

... people sitting together around a kitchen table can become insular and a little carried away.

Bunker mentalities are never the most sound in my experience.

'as the name suggests....' err no, i'm afraid it suggests nothing of the sort lads, it simply suggests a group of supporters.

also, while awaiting your reply and full apology from our nations leader, do please remember that we are in the middle of a feckin pandemic that is killing vulnerable people hourly so i'm afraid he might not see your letter as urgent as you would like.

    That's about it really.

It's gone downhill in the last few years mind . The last time I was there, a Friday night in March before the world ended, it was like a wasteland. Tons of rubbish in the streets, beggars lying in every other shop doorway, fast food and vomit strewn about the place and even the walls of buildings looking absolutely filthy.

Not that unusual in a Northern town It might be said, but not some Shangri-la on the Tyne either.

Please don't think this is a criticism of RAWA, it isn't.

I'm just pointing out how dangerous it is for groups of people, large or small, to be 'representing the supporters'.

This latest insanity from this Newcastle bunch must be cringingly embarrassing for decent Mags.

In the middle of a crisis, in which at least 100,000 people will die, they're demanding the Prime Minister replies to them ...

... not only that, they've set - Midnight, tomorrow – January 13 – as a deadline for the PM to respond.

    It's absolutely shameful.

Whenever people query why Sunderland supporters are wary of appearing 'Mag-like', in protest, I'd say this is a pretty good example.

You're taking things way too literally and totally missing the point.

That's the trouble with messages on a forum, anything subtle or allegoric is easily misunderstood.

Sadly, unless things are spelled out so simply that a 10 year old can follow it there are those who will be jaundiced by their own engrained opinions and prejudice.

It would be too complicated, and boring for other people, so it's probably best to ignore me ...

... anyway, it's almost kick off, I've paid my tenner so I'm off.

Take it easy and take care.

I work for South Tyneside and Sunderland health foundation and we are in a really dangerous place atm with covid and it is getting perilous But morons like this are demanding answers from the prime minister about a bloody football club who are currently in the premier League. It's shameful
