Prior to them luckily beating Burnley (think they also got another win after/before), I really felt they could be in trouble this season. Still could be, but there are likely 3 teams (or more) that are going to struggle more. Isn’t their coach the one who said he wouldn’t change tactics? I mean, int he first half today, they were making mistakes and they weren’t being pressed that hard, and gave the ball away countless times. I’m looking forward to our game, not saying we will win, but if our press is on top form, we could really pressure them.
Spurs were the worst opposition for Leeds to play. They don't play around at the back much, which limits Leeds' press. They play with two holding midfielders and two FBs who are instructed to stay at home, which limits Leeds' counter attacking. They play with two deadly and sharp attackers, which punishes Leeds' gift of giving the ball away in their own half. They have threat from set pieces, which punishes Leeds' inability to defend set pieces. As you say, when we play Leeds we could do some damage. Our press could yield great results. But I would also be concerned about the damage they do to us. Unlike today, I expect Leeds' own pressing and also their counter attacking could have real joy. Whether it's nicking the ball off one of our CBs, or cutting out a pass from Romeu whilst KWP is up the other end of the pitch. I'm really looking forward to it. Either side could win 4-0. Or it could finish 3-3. 0-0 it is then.
Totally, I also wonder if that was part of the reason Regullon wasnt playing. I get the Covid breach, but if it were against someone else, i think he is in. As you say, it suited Jose having Davies who just isn’t as good going forward, and rarely got 1/3 in Leeds half. Phillips got a 5th booking. Does that mean he misses the game before us?
What was Sheffield Utd’s run at the end of last season? I thought they lost loads in a row then too. They simply have to start winning.
Don't get me wrong, that's a class goal. But the defending was totally horrific. Defending from a side who are going down.
It's been lock-down or near too it for 9 months and Sheffield United are still flirting the rules in plain sight, going out each week and getting wrecked.
Jeez, Dan Byrne trying to single handed outdo the entire Sheff Utd defence in one half. Easy cushioned header to the keeper he puts out for a corner, which Wolves score from. Then he scores and own goal. Finally brings down Traore in the box for a penalty. Now I'm no gambler, but those of you on here should lump a score on him getting one back for Brighton.
Eschewing panic sackings is on a good run at the moment. Was quite a bit of talk that OGS would be going on permanent involuntary holiday when they had such a dreary start...not so much anymore. Is the single managerial change by Jan 1st a record?
