2 teams who have both lost 3 out of their last 5 games.

Will the return of Graham make the difference.

Graham would make the difference if he had anyone else to help him.

As it's January can we keep Graham and replace the other 10.

In case you're confused by my previous post - I was just showing you how much room The Gills defence gives to the opposition.

grumpygit tells me that when we play with wingbacks, our so-called defenders will always give a lot of space on the flanks --- from which we concede... So - it must be the manager's fault for his tactics === but, Evans wasn't wearing the No.2 when Jackson was nowhere on so many occasions... Evans wasn't wearing No.3 when O'Gilvie failed to be anywhere near the goal scorer - who had so much space... Evans wasn't wearing No. 3 when O'Gilvie missed an open goal - nor was Evans wearing No.7 in the 94th minute when Willock somehow managed NOT to score from another open goal.

PS - don't bother to listen or read Evans post match interview --- I predict that words like '' fantastic'' will be attributed to our performance..... '' We should have won it - we had total control of the match''...... etc etc etc. What he Evans won't tell you is that (( apart from Graham )), we were --woeful when it comes to goal scoring (( I don't think we had a shot on target.))
..... The only positive remark I can make is that it did appear that we tried to compete -- just not very well.

Ogilvie was actually marking someone for their goal, the fault actually lied with Robertson & Eccles allowing Plymouth just to saunter through and Drysdale wasn't marking anybody.

With regards to Jackson I still think that we should have kept Fuller personally. Second half much improved but weren't going to score for a month of Sundays with our lacklustre attack.

Pegleg - can you run ( a bit), and able to kick a ball? - We might need to put you into the side next week - at least you seem to have a grasp of what is required by the defence.

Well I must be the only one learning from all this, and I promise you that is not a boast but a sad reflection of the performances on the pitch. Going to be totally honest, I wasn't in the mood for them today, I was tired and decided a siesta would be more beneficial than watching them. It appears looking through the comments, my judgement was right and damn sight better for my health.

And so you know grumpygit, NOW TV would probably offer you a monthly full sky sports subscription for the price of two games (cancel anytime), let that one sink in my friend.

I'm pleased to hear that Graham is back, but he defo deserves better than us.

They had 63% Possession, WE Had 37% they had 17 shots, we had 12 shots.
their top scorer has 14 goals, our top scorer has 6 goals.
SE thinks we were the better team and should have won, sorry SE I know stats don't always tell the full story, but neither do you.

Ah right so Evans thinks he's Jose now, telling Klopp he was the better team when Liverpool spanked the bus.

Let's look at it in a slightly less gloomy way, were we better when we changed shape when Akinde & MacDonald came on? Yes? Were we the better team second half? Probably. Did we deserve to win the game? No we didn't. Would a draw have been fair? Maybe.

We were tighter when we changed shape and Plymouth didn't have an answer for that so I guess that's a positive. Graham returning is a massive plus, their left back (he played on the right today unusually) simply couldn't handle him. What let us down was despite Graham getting many crosses into the box, most of the time we didn't have anyone there. First half he put a great ball in which Oliver only needed to get a glancing touch and most likely would have gone one-nil up. Dempsey works hard and again looks like he wants to create something but the rest of midfield today was a disaster. We have only one fit and competent holding midfielder and for some bizarre reason we're playing him just behind the striker!?

There is cracks in the squad but there are some shining lights. Let's be realistic, due to the financial position the club is in, it might just be the best that we can afford at the moment. As depressing a fact that is, I suppose we just need to hope that the Evans from Rotherham kicks into gear for the remaining games of the season.

They've missed Willock heading the ball over from 2 yards from an attempt that was already going in!
