You're still top bro and we'll probably lose our next game anyway so, you know... Anyway take it easy Sucksta
1/3 of season gone. Usually Xmas would be just before 1/2 way point so slightly more relevant as everyone would be close to playing everyone once. I still think we look poor, but so does everyone else. Champion will be whoever breaks out of the funk first.
look anything could happen but you have to have faith in SOMETHING. a) defence is solid. nope. Spurs and city have far more solid defences. b) forwards: nope. they miss far more than they score and you'd not put your house on one of them to score the one chance that comes along. c) hunger: sadly no. compared to last season it seems absent. d) fitness: nope we look like we fad away in games. if we are not leading by 60mins forget it it seems. What can I put my faith in this season? Alisson? Robertson? Henderson? that's about it frankly.
I think a fair few here have been spoilt by 2/3 seasons of near perfection tbh. Its very close to "entitled" imo. Dunno maybe I'm just good in a crisis but (after my initial reaction to a crisis I mean ) but I choose to see it like... We're top after xmas. We've had ridiculous injuries. Absolutely ridiculous. We won't have Gomez or vvd this season. Jota got injured when he was flying. Thiago ain't even featured properly yet. Games every 2/3 days dont go naturally well with our high intensity style and that's showing in fatigue and knocks being picked up. We haven't even got going yet (no teams have) no team has won more than 4 games in a row so far this season. But the most important thing in all that is we're top, despite all those hicups. For me that's a massive positive not the complete opposite like some are declaring #reactionary
100% this! Plus, last season's title race was boring as ****. We absolutely smashed it, no contest. Least the title chase will be more exciting this year.
This is doing things more the Liverpool way tbh. We usually make things ten times more difficult for ourselves than we need to. I don't know what happened last year. Running away with it? That's not our style. We should have won by a point in the last game of the season... That's more of our way.
Mostly agree, but not having several players available doesn't explain how we couldn't pass the ball five yards for most of the first half, how Bobby's touch has turned him into another Dirk Kuyt, and Mo is missing more open goals than he's scoring. We can't expect all our rivals to keep dropping points forever, but if we're in this situation in April I'll be happy. But we won't, because paying the owners back for a stand they were supposed to build anyway seems to be a bigger priority than getting at least one, if not two CB's in.
Contradicting yourself here. How does paying back the owners explain "how we couldn't pass the ball five yards for most of the first half, how Bobby's touch has turned him into another Dirk Kuyt, and Mo is missing more open goals than he's scoring"? Isn't it about time you buried this bone?
Sloppy passes, poor decision making, lazy finishing. It could be as a result of both mental and physical fatigue. Some of our players have been massively overworked due the injuries and let’s also remember that some of the players that have returned may not be fully fit or sharp, which still adds the burden on those who have remained fit. And let’s not forget that a significant and fundamental part to how we play has been compromised due to losing not one, not two but 3 top class centre backs. We have been horribly unlucky this season in terms of injuries and even refereeing decisions, yet we’re still top. I’m hoping our fortunes now turn in our favour in the new year.
