"McInnes is a great motivator, a great man manager (nothing but positive words coming out from players, Sandaza going out of his way to praise him), a very good tactician capable of changing things when things get tough. Furthermore he is exceptionally good at identifying weaknesses in a team, moving swiftly in the transfer market and strenghening a squad with a minimum of fuss."

Hello bigroddy, thanks for your comments,

Ah, music to my ears - just what we need here....

Anyway it's all gone a bit quiet, any word on what's happening? Got a soft spot for you guys after the play off year a few years back!

A friend of mine who works as a commentator reckons you can compete with the right man in charge. Looks like this is a massive decision for Bristol city.

No idea bigroddysboot although there have been rumoursw that Dave Jones expressed an interest in the job before Millen was sacked.

I hope McInness gets a fair crack of the whip if he's interviewed and the Jones things isn't a done deal already, especially as Saints have given us permission to talk to their man !

This McInnes character sounds more interesting day by day.

The question for the board is: Do we go with someone with a proven CC record (like Jones), or take a risk with a relative unknown who might be the bees-knees, but is as yet unproven at CC level.

For my part, I have made no secret that I have always wanted Jones, as I have seen survival in the CC as our primary goal this season, but I am beginning to sway towards McInnes ...... I am liking very much what I am reading...

Going by his odds it makes me wonder if he is now out of the race as he was once 2-5 a few days ago and is now 8-1.

Big mover is Zola up to 4-1 with Robins at 8-11.

I'm also a little woried to see McClaren is up to 14-1. I know he is a former player but is style of football will be as positive as Millens was and results would follow suit.

Can't see McClaren happening. I feel sorry for him but his work with the national team seems to hang around him no matter what. Mark Robins is pretty impressive though! Keeping an eye out for movement with it. I've never been too impressed with Dave Jones... especially at Cardiff. They had an extremely strong squad and just couldn't crack that promotion. I remember his post match comments tended to verge on blaming officials and other circumstances with alarming regularity - especially last year. That being said it would be a good appointment in that he's an extremely experienced championship manager that is a free agent and lives nearby... It's an interesting scenario sure!

Also purely as a football fan I can't wait to see Zola back in the game. What he hard time he got from Gold and Sullivan.
