I sympathise with GG because he's brave enough to answer questions that the authors of that statement should be doing. I don't know if they've been on RTG but it's poor if they haven't.

I have many questions for them, which I've posted on here.

Here's another which GG is welcome to have a crack at or not, as he chooses.

Of the 13,000 members how many even suggested that RAWA should issue a statement prior to the EFL ratification of the new owner/chairman.

    My guess is zero ...

I wouldn't know, but I imagine it would be zero tbh. Truth be told I was a bit surprised that it came out when it did, since like you say he hasn't officially been given the green light yet! I'd expect something when he takes over but it was odd to see it at this stage. I mean, I think everyone is sure it's just a formality but I'd still expect comment to be made when he's here, not when it just looks almost certain. They do run some things past coopts first for comment, but that one was on the website straight away. Which is fine, but it did surprise me a bit in terms of timing.

Given that there is a bit of time (mid-January according to the club statement) until the next official Comms from the club, will RAWA be asking their members for opinions about the (potential) new ownership?

I've had Mag family desperately trying to find dirt on him to get at me. In desperation they resorted to 'well he's only 22' ...

    ... 'Nah he's 23, birthday was the 18th'

Being honest I'm not sure that there's a great need for it. I don't think it would tell us much (pretty obvious that the vast majority are very much in favour of him coming in, wish that Donald and methven would go completely but understand that this might have been needed to get the deal done, and are generally hopeful and looking forward to see what happens).

That said, they asked for questions for the last meeting with the club which was delayed. Given the change in ownership a lot of those questions will be redundant, and members will have lots of new questions. As such I'm sure they'll ask for questions to be submitted for that, which again will give a good idea of the things that people are wondering about in respect of the new owner. People can always email or whatever if they have any specific thoughts about the new ownership that they'd like to convey though, the more feedback the better (albeit as I acknowledge that its not ideal if they don't all get a reply)

100% this ^ RAWA like all fans want the club to succeed but the wording of that statement was very poor. It was written in the wrong tone and with a poor choice of words.

Someone spent a while composing that, thinking they were being very clever but in the end it was very magesque. It could’ve been written by Steve wraith welcoming an alternative new owner after the Saudi bid failed.

Hopefully they do canvass for more relevant questions now that things have changed and I would hope that would be direct to members rather than via social media platforms.

Out of interest do you know if they meet up regularly to discuss the internal politics/issues/opportunities as a supporter group. It can't always be about them and the club, they must meet to critique themselves at some point and do some sort of members feedback/survey as to how they are performing.

I think it's a tricky one, especially when you consider that it's a volunteer role and they all have other jobs. In a way the coopts role is also to give comment (positive or negative) on thing they're doing so I think we try and do that. But the main one is the AGMs and the other meetings during the year when (Covid aside) a good few members can come to a pub or wherever and ask anything they want, and the zoom is had worked quite well so going forwards people who can't get to the meetings should still be able to listen and ask things. That's probably the main place where members can feed back on performance. I think the committee and coopts normally then have a catch up after which includes a bit of a discussion on how things are going. It's nowt formal like as far as I know. To be honest I'm a bit limited on my knowledge of it all because I've only been a coopt for part of this year and its all been affected by Covid so I haven't met up with them yet, it's all been phone or WhatsApp. I'll hopefully have a better idea of it all next year!

No worries mate, I'm honestly not having a go or trying to be arsey, fair play for responding; I genuinely think it is a good idea to have a group representing the fans to club but it needs to do just that -represent the fans- and not just the few selected people on the committee.

There is **** loads for them to think about in terms of a governance structure, voting to elect the committee, data protection issues around gathering, processing, storing and disposing of data, as I said previously; vision statements, organisational goals, maybe some performance indicators for individual committee members, action plans to track progress against those indicators against those individuals to promote accountability. Maybe even an internal 'scrutiny' panel.

They are (potentially) going to representing a load of people if their membership booms and if I were them I'd rather get the structure right while we are in the third division than have to sort it out when we have just won the premier League with 20million followers on Twitter to satisfy. :emoticon-0105-wink::emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

It's a very difficult situation mate, you've done well to try to provide answers.

I just hope the committee men have seen the reaction, from some, to what they put out. In particular how quick the Echo was to pick out all the 'clear message' 'supporters demands' and 'meeting with the owner wanted' stuff.

I'd hope a lesson has been learnt and RAWA stick to their mission statement in future ...

... as @Somebodys pinched my sombrero would say, their card has been marked ;)

I have to say, people on here should be proud of the way a very sensitive subject has been forcefully, but politely, debated ...

... whereas on RTG the Mods have had to pile in after endless pages of abuse, mob rule and deleted posts.

God forbid the new lads look on there <doh>

His Grandfather Pierre was some bloke like. Raced in the Le Mans 24 about 11 times. Well worth a read up on his family.
