There's been hundreds if not thousands of variants, though most behave in the same way. Pretty sure I read somewhere that the one that was prominent in Europe in March/April was different to the one that originated in China.

Would it be too much to ask to have no fcking news about Coronavirus for a few days?

I'm getting a bit sick and tired of 75% of the news and Breakfast programmes droning on and on about it tbh. It's the Christmas holidays. Can we just have some other news, something different or at the least have the news channels giving it a few minutes that's all and tell us about something else.

645,000 in the UK have Covid... somewhat ironically China has ceased all flights to and from the UK.

Really good of China to cease flights, 12 months after the horse had bolted...

Surely we must be somewhere near to herd immunity if these figures are correct?

Saw that this morning. Brilliant news.
Not sure how spacing the jabs out by twelve weeks will work though. Our lass is due her second dose of the Pfizer one next Thursday. Nice piece of mind knowing she’s had it.
Probably a very simplistic outlook, but could those who are currently unable to work (hospitality etc) be enrolled into the vaccination programme to help administer the injections?
If we have millions of doses ready to go, let’s get them out there into the community. I reckon a lot of people would gladly help out while they are unable to work.

ok Stalin calm down. none of that talk.

Joking obviously, its a good idea.

But with the current climate of red tape and bureaucracy every single person would have to enroll in an injection course of 2 weeks before anyone is permitted. Then education providers would be overwhelmed; complaining to the Sun or summit about it.

Decent idea but cheaper to get the army to do it.

Yeah suppose it’s only a matter of time until Janice from the The Horse and Crown accidentally injected someone in the eyeball.

    ‘Friggin ell!’ She proclaimed.

I read a little while ago even if we go full pelt with the vaccinations we won't get more than half the population vaccinated by the end of next year. If that's true we've still got a long long way to go.

Also, it's interesting to see that it's taken 5/6 weeks from the vaccine announcement by AstraZeneca to actually getting it approved. Goes to show that this isn't being rushed through and should help to counter arguments about safety or Bill Gates nonsense.
