Started really well and Ndombele has been great but after about 10-15 mins we’ve sat back too much just like the Palace game and invited too much pressure. Really hope we don’t take Ndombele off at 60mins too because it’ll mean a Sissoko-Winks-Hojbjerg midfield and that’s just asking for trouble as we’ve seen a few times already.
It was equally cynical, but not part of a City-style team effort. They did it repeatedly in the first 25 minutes.
Agree. This has definitely been handled better than previous games where we've just retreated from midfield entirely and looked to see off the onslaught by cramming our own final third. We've actually had some good spells of possession that helps take the pressure of. No coincidence that it's with Winks on over Sissoko tbh. That said, Tanguy's been incredible and we owe our current position in this match to him.
Think it will be Sissoko on for Winks ( yellow ) and Bergwijn ( or Lamella ) on for N'Dombele. and a late ( depending on how it is going ) sub of Toby/ Rodon for Reggie
I don't find him that anti-Spurs, to be honest. He's just a bit old and out of touch. Supposed to be a very nice bloke, somewhat bizarrely. A Liverpool fan I know met him and he was happy to talk and pose for photos.
Winks has been doing his best to play passes into Wolves players so you might be right on that one. Not that Sissoko will provide us with decent passing though. Depends on what Lamela’s fitness is like I reckon, if he’s got circa 30 mins in him fair enough.
