Think you're selling Marseille fans a canny bit short. Admittedly this is a Champions League game but they go just as loud if not more so against PSG

It shouldn't, Marseille fans are bit unhinged and will display anger far more readily than we do

I naturally agree with you. One thing I'd say is that part of the attraction of our club is our loyal and demanding supporters. With that, you are going to have to answer to the fans a lot as we won't settle for less.

The problem with asking for long term plans etc is that the answer is blatantly obvious ...

... sort out the club from top to bottom, get promotion and invest in a shot at the PL.

In all honesty, what else can the owner say.

The wishes of our supporters are the same as any other in our position.

I'd rather we left the club to make more appointments like Speakman and judge the results, not the predictions or promises.

I see a lot of 'wise men' saying that we shouldn't have been so quick to back Donald, why not. What difference would it have made, should we have immediately started protesting ...

... as it happened we almost went up and almost won a cup.

If that had happened who'd have cared about how much Sartori paid for his shares or how Donald 'conned the supporters' into changing seats at the SOL ...

... ironically, the seats will be Donald's only lasting legacy <laugh>

I kinda don't want to hear from the owner. For me, If the structure is in place correctly, its Speakman I wanna hear from as he should be dictating the way forward

SD legacy for me will be failure to get us put of this division but bigger than that with the plans KLD has put forward it hits home even more so the fxcking mess SD has made of our youth system & sold off any youngster worth a bean.

KLD & staff will sort out youth out with their plans but they havent half been given more work by SD & likely been caused a delay gettimg kids direct from academy to first team.

The statement KLD made stands out so much more that SD is clinging to a few shares for a later big payout.

The two mens visions are the complete opposite.

KLD - invest in youth infrastructure, leave no stone unturned from the analytical side.

SD - sell kids worth owt for as much as can, run academy into the ground so much so its barely even operating, buy/preferably acquire plodders or waste what you have got on one of the biggest journeyman to play upfront in the clubs history

I know like you say SD will be from afar, ie not involved. Imagine a full shareholders meeting....what on earth could SD bring to the table?

I've said many a time when a new manager or whatever comes when people are knocking one out over whatever the latest words that are coming out their mouths are that they mean absolutely **** all really. When things are going well we love their words and ****ing hate everything they say when it isn't. The only thing that will ever matter to the vast majority is what happens on the pitch, get that right and we'll be buying their wives flowers and quite possibly offer ours up for other things as well.....

We now have someone who wants to put money into the club, rather than taking it out.

Even if that's with the ultimate aim of selling when we're worth ten times more I'll settle for that.

In the meantime KLD is innocent until proven guilty for me.

Bang on...we want formal statements on the website and that's as far as it should go....im reading from a few people KLD will bring his own people in...as far as I can see the people running the club are already there, Rodwell running the business and Speakman running the football, its those 2 who will be bringing the people in as far as I can read into it backed by KLDs money and vision I would expect.

Agree mate, lets be honest we were told plenty of words / statements / fans meetings from SD & CM.....they absolutely destroyed anything they built up, which reconnection wise with the club was a lot.

The statement KLD has made, hes already started putting into place before hes even arrived, his actions will do me at the moment.

Big January ahead, lets let his team concentrate on this & not get negative if some of the things we do in January dont necessarily match his words. I for one & sure plenty others just want to get out of here, if its ugly & it works so be it, we might not see his true plans forming until were in the championship if we were to go up this season

The man has me excited & 100% bought into his vision.....& i cannot wait to get back to the SOL no matter what division were in, THIS is the start of our clubs recovery we all just gotta KTF as no doubt it will be an exciting but bumpy ride

I have kept away from the board since the announcement on Christmas eve to enjoy the festive period, so imagine my surprise at some of the negative reactions that l have encountered reading through.

After reading the KLD statement again laying out the intention of the way forward, l am astonished at this negativity seeing as the lad not even stepped across the threshold yet and the small positive steps that have been put in place in Speckman and Johnson

Ha'waaaaaay some people need to get a life, we should be grateful as a league one club in this climate that someone with a few Bob even to buy wanted us

I for one am looking forward to the ride and getting back to games

Are you sure you haven't been reading a different board mate, I've not seen much negativity tbh.

Quite a few saw the RAWA statement as poorly judged but that's not directed at KLD.

Totally agree ..we have been far too open in the recent past, just so that they could be fans as well as owners. Football is far too emotional and irrational and therefore there has to be some distance between them and us. Otherwise we get knee jerk responses to appease everybody, which ultimately ends up with a squad of players recruited by several management teams and coaches, and no team ethos.

When all of this is confirmed I'd like to go back to hearing from the owners as infrequently as possible. An annual end of season interview would be absolutely fine by me. No more podcasts, rallying calls or drinking with the fans, ta. A bit like Ellis Short but with the addition of competent football people running the day to day. I'm pretty hopeful that's exactly what we're going to get too.

There was a lot of criticism about Short's lack of communication.
Donald was praised for his open and regular communication then criticised for it.
Tbh I don't give a monkeys either way as long as we improve and get promotion.

Sometimes little things can get you. Last night pressing 'unfollow' on William Storey was a wonderful feeling

    That was a strange affair.
I can't help but think the bloke's a Walter Mitty like most do.
But I still have that curiosity.

I'll be interested to see where he pops up next.

Time for me to go , fed up of some posters who just want to be abusive.
I have appreciated the posts from the likes of Smug, Magnus, Prehab and Wheatsheaf and several others.
Hope everyone had under the circumstances a good Christmas and I am looking forward to a bright 2021 along with the rebirth of my beloved SAFC.
