Rock bottom is superb, one of my favourite guitar solos. Schenker was on top form on that album. Rock bottom, rush 2112, and Jimi hendrix all along the watchtower are my go to tracks when I try new headphones.
Honky Tonk Woman, the Rolling Stones. The cowbell entrance then that drum combined with the guitar riff, that was the stones at their best. Rock n Roll and the Blues beautifully combined. They weren't the best Rock n Roll band nor the best Blues band but they brought then together perfectly.
I paid £33 for 2112. I think the shop was Mr Smiths next to the Vestry. It was as called then an "import". Worth the money though.
Probably nothing special technically but as soon as this starts the nostalgia hits and my foot starts tapping.
Floyd, Shine on you Crazy Diamond, live version from the Pulse final concert. 6.5 minutes is probably a bit too long for some though?
If I was going for Stones I'd say Gimme Shelter ( love that song), I often prefer the door build up. My overall favorite start to a song / album was the first 37 seconds of Hey Dude by Kula Shaker. Overall a mediocre group, it was mostly downhill after that.
