Oddly enough we've got sliding doors and fixed windows. I don't suppose opening an upstairs window would work.
Meh, just smash the windows or, failing that, knock some holes in the walls. It's all a question of priorities really. But glad you'll have some company JB.
Well, as the new restrictions have put the kibosh on my Christmas travel plans I'll be spending it on my own, apart from meeting up outside with some friends if it isn't pissing down. Fortunately, I'm one of those people who cope reasonably well with my own company, and there are plenty far worse off. It's been a strange year - let's hope it all gets back to some sort of normality soon. Hope everyone has a good time - whoever you're with.
Thanks. I'll be ok - it's only a couple of days anyway. As it is I've hardly seen anyone since March, apart from outside.
I don't have any friends so it's Xmas as usual. Occasionally one of the grandparents will come stay for Xmas, although, they all stopped visiting when we got dogs anyway.
Hope have a decent enough day. If you’re on your own you can travel to others for a support bubble though if needed?
Same, I don't celebrate Christmas other than just having a nice relaxing time by myself on the day itself so it will be the same as usual for me. Usually the most enjoyable part is how quiet it is everywhere but that's not going to look much different to the whole year this time I have a very small family who aren't into it either so suits me just fine. I'll just end up having some decent food, go for a longish walk, read, watch something, listen to some music. Find my own company preferable most of the time anyway so not seeing anybody isn't a problem Have seen a couple of friends in the run up, for a walk and on skype which has been good. I also put a token set of lights up the other day which are nice to have on at this time of year, so that's my concession to it all
Thanks. I was due to go and stay with my daughter and son-in-law but they're 300 miles away so obviously not feasible under current restrictions. Friends nearby all have their own family bubbles for Christmas and I wouldn't intrude anyway. It's just one year, and tbh I'd rather we all played the game and acted sensibly so we can get on top of this thing as quickly as possible, so next time we can be back to normal.
You really shouldn't have set the dogs on them I suppose. Hope you have a good one, whatever you do. At least you can celebrate being Trump-free.
Thank you, you too... Well... My Dad would come, but my mother thinks dogs are dirty so won't go into any house that has them. On my wife's side, her parents are divorced... Her Dad is even more of a hypochondriac than my Mum... It's kinda weird having two grandparents like that for the kids... . His wife, loves dogs and doesn't bother her. My wife's mother and husband love dogs too, but they never visit us anyway. They both have health issues so can't really travel and aren't really close to my wife anyway. They're the crazy extreme right wing evangelicals I might have mentioned before, so not a good match for my wife and I and our kids. They send my kids things like bibles and Rush Limbaugh books for Xmas (no joke) Not Trump free yet, still have him for weeks! Who knows what stunts he is yet to pull.
We're at my Mums this year , she lives fairly close , and i rang her yesterday to ask what we were having and to my horror she told me she wouldn't know until today as she hadn't been shopping yet and was planning to go late that evening or early this morning as they won't be busy apparently . Rang her about an hour ago and apparently at 9 o clock last night still very busy so went this morning and joy of joys at 6.20 am Sainsburys had only about a dozen people in it <phew>.
Only when it's convenient. Yes, dinosaurs are fake and the earth isnt old, and armageddon is going to happen soon. (Even though Armageddon is technically a place not an event... ). Trump was elected because it was God's will. Haven't heard the same said about Biden though... Like all evangelical extreme right wingers though, they pick and choose which passages they stick to. Like, I'm know they wear blended fabrics despite the bible forbidding it... And I've seen a Christmas tree in their house before, despite the bible forbidding Christmas trees... So they don't follow the bible completely literally
Yeah, her Mum was always a bit weird. (My wife couldn't watch Scooby Doo as a child because of ghosts and such, and Halloween was banned) but she wasn't politically crazy until she married her new husband. He is a bit of a right wing zealot on top of the religious aspect. He's turned my wife's mother into one too.
I hope you have as good a time as is possible. I haven't coped well and I feel guilty about it knowing that there are others far worse off. Let's hope next year is better for everyone.
