    go watch then :)

when he gets the ball out wide he really doesn't protect it well and very often gets his pocket picked. other forwards like vardy are very very hard to get near the ball.

you are confusing shooting with holding possession. Two totally different skills.

seriously how.many times have you heard people whine on about us not holding the ball and losing it all the time.

how many times do people criticise frimino for trying tricks even in his own half.

these are very common criticisms of all 3.

if you.want perfections cos they wear red fine.

but ill just move on to explain why robertson is also **** ;)

I understand what your saying, but vardy is about twice the size of salah.

Its not really in any of the front 3 to put their foot on the ball and shove their arse out to hold onto the ball.

They want to control it and either lay it off, or run at the defender. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Its also why we got a work horse in the midfield so if they do lose it, we have someone there to pick it up.

There are different ways of retain possession other than making yourself big round the ball.

Imagine how many goals he'd score if he was any use.

vardy is not twice the size of salah. salah is very strong.

my point that nobody wants to hear is that he doesnt protect the ball. he has it right out there where the defender can get to it as he won't take it on his right and get his body between man and ball. that simple.

the point was that kind of giving the ball away won't cut it with the fans of those two Spanish clubs. we forgive all sins and worship them. thats why klopp can safely say stay and be a legend to any one of them.

firmino is very good at it and mane is next to impossible to get the ball off.

my point was they all have flaws that will get ripped asunder should they move on to big clubs.

together that have something they will never replicate elsewhere with other players and especially under different managers.

again confusing the simple concept of holding onto the ball and shooting.

biscay put words in my mouth by starting talking about goals and you've gone in too.

I never said he was no use did i?

    Rose tinted classes round here.

not very often actually. The amount of times he out muscles the full back fsr outweighs amount of time he loses it.

maybe go watch the goal v Everton from couple years back

good job they’re playing for a tiny club with 19 titles, 5 champ leagues, current league holder, league leaders with fans who are well known to not show their passion or share their opinions then.

Liverpool have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Birmingham City youngster Calum Scanlon in January. The Reds have had a bid, thought to be less than £500,000, accepted for the 15-year-old.
TheTimesclaim Scanlon, who can play on the left-side of defence or in midfield, will go straight into Liverpool's academy.
Klopp has ensured his team have a pathway for their youngsters with the likes of Curtis Jones, Neco Williams, Rhys Williams, Caoimhin Kelleher and Leighton Clarkson all featuring for the senior squad.
A number of injuries to first team players has afforded the academy graduates opportunities in the first team.

I'm unsure thats the case, if either of the clubs fans think they've signed a great player then they will be loved, for the amount of money he will cost they will expect them to hit the ground running.

The Spanish arnt stupid, they do realise that players have strengths and weaknesses, just the same as we do.

If he went to Madrid and banged in 40 in his first season, I cant Imagine you'd see many muttering "yes he can score, but have you seen his hold up play, shocking, get rid"

    Thats plainly ridiculous.

The reason that Salah loses possession in the way that you describe is that he’s running at defences at pace and there are normally 2 or 3 defenders around him. Hold up play? We don’t play up to any of our players to hold up, we run at them, with and without the ball and they generally sh*t themselves <ok>

mate we play it direct and we can often see us just seeing the ball come right back at us at times.

sometimes yes he gets to have a run and thats all fine.

I'm talking about something else entirely here though. protecting the ball is a skill that doesn't require brute strength nor does it require any player to be running at the opposition.

salah is strong, quick, has a pass in him, and a wicked left foot. thats all great. but hes allowed to have a flaw pointed out without it being slagging off. teams can pick his pocket, compare and contrast to mane.

mane will get body between ball and man when he needs to, he will also run at people, will also pick a pass and has a good shot.

all I said about mane is he misses a lot of chances, which I thought would be self evident if people ever read a match thread.

same for firmino. for all the praise he rightly gets (and I posted here defending him when people were saying to drop him and all that) he is bot the quickest player is he?

all I've said is why I think they'd be mad to go chase the cash in Spain as they will end up like coutinho. turned on by the same people who tapped them up.

now let's get started on Jordan can do no wrong henderson shall we :)

have you ever seen him do anything but hit the back stick when he crosses. why do our lads usually run under his crosses. have they not figured it out yet?

every player has something, they are not Pele, but to just say the obvious is not slagging the player off nor disloyal

yeah I get what you are saying, and I agree that the sum of the three parts is worth more than the individuals, to us anyway. And that they’d be less effective in other systems....totally agree....so does Jose <laugh> My point was just about Salah - he gets the ball early and runs at defences.....we don’t ask him to hold and lay off. So a tad unfair to judge him this way....what we need here is a stato who can tell us who runs with the ball/loses/passes the ball - but I can’t be @rsed <laugh>

thats fine, he does run at teams when he can and tries. the same as firmino tries to break the line with a first time ball.

I'm just saying he could get the ball onto his right side and not give players a sniff while he looks for options but he doesnt.

in any event I'm sure some might agree that in a European settings we have on some occasions seen us kick possession away and not getting it back too easy.

I would be. He brings far more to the team than his goals. In fact, all 3 of our forwards do.

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a deal for Celta Vigo wonderkid Stefan Bajcetic.
The centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, with reports suggesting the deal was practically agreed.
However, according to Faro de Vigo a last minute turn in the negotiations have led to the unexpected change of destination.
The report suggests that Liverpool officials travelled to Vigo on Tuesday to make final arrangements for his travel to Merseyside.

Along with the two Premier League rivals, RB Leipzig are also understood to have made a bid for the 16-year-old.
