As a general point, it’s good that even some Labour voters see this sort of thing for what it is - ludicrous political McCarthyism - but does it occur to them that it’s their tribe that it’s driving this agenda? I heard on the radio that Cambridge United had identified every one of a small number of fans who booed when their team took the knee a few weeks ago. Each fan was asked to explain their motive for booing, then was punished with one of a number of sanctions ranging from 're-education' to a ban. As far as I'm aware no explanations given were thought worthy of the fan in question not being punished at all.
