Normally by this point of the season the table isn't settled, but you can normally see roughly which teams are going to be fighting top, middle, or bottom. United are essentially second. Second after a third of the season done is normally a good place to be. It's a bit of a silly season though. So who knows? I agree media shouldn't sensationalise each win and loss as much, but they're trying to sell themselves to eyeballs. United though, have kinda been in this position for a while though, they've just been several games played behind, so artificially low in the table. They've been potentially top four for a few weeks. People have been ignoring them because they were down the table... And a bird's bush being better than her hands 'n all.
people need to realise that utd have only played 3 games v top 6 rivals (including leicester not arsenal) we have already played 4 and spurs 5. i would be looking to spurs (even though they lost the last 2) as a rival more than utd as utd will in the end mess up royally at some point. we get two tilts at hammering utd as well. yes utd when not closed down look ok charging on but they are god awful and wide open at the back. there a reason why they collapsed in europe after all.
Spurs, 1st on the 15th, Best goal GD, least against 6th on the 21st, joint third GD, joint third against.
looks that they could mount a challenge. But it won’t be successful as we will get out of the pack the rest of the season and do a solo run like Mo Farah does on the home straight. They are being underestimated by everyone until each pundit slowly recognises they are currently the best of the rest. They have a formidable decent away form and if they replicate that form at home they may well stay in that top 3. They have a midfield which provides the ammunition for the attackers. I can see them finishing second. TBH we can’t say they are there because of a weird season. Every team are there because of that. Us despite our away draws and injuries, Chelsea, Leicester. Few of the true rivals have a home crowd but we have. Which is also weird but we shouldn’t complain.
28? Nah, I’d take him at that age. No older though. He’s in his prime now and will be for 3 years, injuries allowing.
I thought he was slightly older at 29/30 tbh, still wouldn't take him now. Well, unless it was very cheap or free. Only two players from last season that I thought would have stood a chance of getting into our side; KDB and Son.
That's the approx age of Salah, Mo, Firm, etc. We've got several important players all within a year or two of age, that will probably all need replacing at the same time. We might have a few rocky transition years in the future. I've always thought Son was a good player. He's the one player I'd snag from Spurs first... But can you imagine if we signed him and he became an important cog in the machine. Having to replace 4 important attacking pieces at once in a few years? Age less important for defenders and such, but attacking players generally start to age after 30... Just no one told Messi that.
I think they last longer mate. 28-31/32 is prime time these days Imo. Injuries allowing, obviously. It’s a moot point because we won’t sign him
Utd dominating Everton. The studs up challenges will be seen soon. City will undoubtedly draw Brentford so it looks like a utd v Spurs semi
So cavani who still hasn’t been banned for his racist social media post scores the goal that puts united into semi... To add to grabbing mina by the throat and not getting a red lol
He knew he would get away with this tonight. If VAR was being used, he wouldn’t have done it. Cynical may be, pragmatic certainly. Shows that for all VARs faults it is needed, especially when off side goals are given like City’s last night.
