I can’t believe that this was the desired effect of Drakeford & Gething’s Firebreak ......

We go into Tier 3 on Wednesday and we are currently only 279 per 100,000

I know what you're saying, but surely Joe Public have to take responsibility here ? If people followed the advice then surely we wouldn't be where we are. I've been out and about and apart from the masks you'd swear nothing was going on. The amount of people I've seen going into supermarkets and ignoring the hand sanitiser and trolley cleaner says to me that they just don't care that much. People seem more upset they can't have a pint whenever they want.

I agree completely that Joe Public should take responsibility - however, the way they loosened the restrictions after the Firebreak was simply asking for trouble.

I know one successful restaurant owner who contacted Jeremy Miles (Sennedd Cabinet Member) to question the relaxation of the restrictions post the Firebreak and to warn that it was a recipe for disaster...... his warning fell on deaf ears .....

This is where it falls down. You can not rely on the general public. End of. I think the restrictions have done nothing but harm to the economy. I would have carried on as normal but with masks and social distancing - those that are responsible will be, everyone else won't, as has been evident. I would have also protected care homes and the vulnerable. Then let it run its course. We'd literally be in the same position we are now but with less damage to the economy.

If Boris had shut down the airports and had a hard line approach right at the start, then that would have been better as well. This is what Cyprus did and they've handled it much better and been a safer place. Theoretically, if everyone isolated for two weeks the virus would be eradicated - only theoretically though.

Bottom line - people are idiots (mostly) and so are the government.

Also, with the virus mutating every year, like flu, this is a wet dream scenario for the vaccine makers profits and their influential partners. Freedoms are being eroded, deliberately and irrevocably.

God knows what’s gone on in the last few days, the South East is getting worse than the first wave. Portsmouth, Havant & Gosport now all in tier 3. Luck we’re still in tier 2.

I had a text earlier from the wife, last week Southampton General ICU had 12 cases, now full and their second unit will be full by the end of the day, so that’s around 40 people in ICU. They have had to move the usual patients to HDU as ICU is now Covid only. It shows how bad it’s now got, they have had 8 people transferred to them from Kent.

So my question is, why weren’t they sent to Nightingale Hospital in London, did we spend all those millions on white elephants?

Maybe now there's not enough staff to work in it and all the others that were built. There doesn't seem to be any joined up planning , just knee jerk reactions . 7 hours notice we were given then Drakeford comes out with "no panic buying" honestly what reaction was he expecting , the bloke's a ****ing knob .

He normally follows widow krankie from Scotland who is locking down from Boxing Day but not this time...who did he listen to? The uk government just because it made him look clever or not. Panic buying ensues immediately and after people had gone shopping he comes out with the dont panic please you can still do click and collect. And all this done without Guessing giving us his expert advice.
So all the catering sit down establishments have to get rid of the food brought in for the last few days their busiest time of the year...some have suggested they give it to the needy..who pays for the cooking and supply? Just dump it at the Senedd with a bill. These caterers and pubs have suffered enough surely with the open /shut synopsis of the idiots in Cardiff.

Does the France travel ban count if you travel by dinghy?
