Ambition at the moment is to win a game!

Unfortunately I think that the club needs so much money spending on it - players, training ground, stadium - that we have to be realistic about what is genuinely possible

I don't think we can mount a serious promotion challenge within the existing FFP rules given where we are now and the resources available to others

All very sensible, but if we can't dream of doing a Leicester what's the point?

Or, looking at it from another viewpoint, some of our recent capitulations may not have happened with 12,000 screaming fans urging the team on, getting them to dig deep when the pressure is on in the dying minutes, and maybe holding on for the win.

    We'll never know...

    Totally agree.

I know we are nowhere near promotion material at present but if you don't want the team to get better and reach for higher ground i don't quite see the point in following a team.

Surely the point of any team, in any sport whatsoever, is to try to strive for the highest level possible?

If i just wanted to see a good performance with the odd win thrown in i'd probably content myself with watching a few of the better seasons dvd's from years long gone by.

    Definitely worth dreaming...we all do

But it needs to be tempered with reality

Life is a journey - dream for sure but enjoy the journey with all its ups and downs

To be fair, that's not quite what you said though.

Also, Leicester proved that it can be more than a dream.

Leicester were largely the exception proving the rule - money almost inevitably talks

    Ok.
I'd rather carry on hoping that we can get promoted again, or have another fantastic day at Wembley, whilst realistically expecting to be a championship club in the main.

With a proposed salary cap coming in the Championship it'll basically consolidate the yo-yo clubs' superiority permanently. We'll basically yo-yo with League One...

Surely, every owner, every manager, every player and every fan wants to see their team play at the highest level possible and try and win trophies. The excitement of reaching the premier league was superb, unfortunately poor decisions from the top have resulted in us just being stale, for want of a better word. It's become, tedious and boring. I have paid for every game possible this season and even my 15 year old lad now tells me not to bother. That's what is the sickener for me. Even he is losing interest and it all definitely comes from a lack of ambition to progress. If I'm incorrect on that then whatever we are doing, obviously isnt working.

To think we were ahead of Leicester during the year we went down, they're light years away from us now...

I’m not sure that is true mate, though it probably is for QPR fans who have tasted, over my lifetime at least (but never before) a bit of top league action. But I know plenty of people who follow their local non league team and what makes their season is beating local rivals and a cup win (not even FA Cup) against higher rated opposition. I wish I could be satisfied with that. Tragically I want to see us playing like Holland in 1974 (we did once upon a time!) and to allow me to see the Hoops play away in Europe. No ****ing hope. But then again.........

You can always go on a QPR pre-season tour to Europe. I have been on about 3/4 to date. Not exactly the Champions League or even the Europa League but the lack of decent planning helps you realise how badly run a club QPR really are. We might even play your beloved Milan the next time?

All booked separately. Met some great European fans on those trips from Norway, Holland, Germany etc. I even bumped into 2 QPR lads from Wexford on my way to Vienna a couple of years ago.The poor organisation can be shocking but the crack can be good. Price - flight 100 euro, hotel 70-100 euro per night. Drink and food money extra.

Just remembered Kiwi, a few years ago we played Kilmarnock in a pre-season friendly in Scotland. Three of us from here went. We flew Ryanair Dublin to Glasgow Prestwick and the cost was 24 euros in total - 8 euro each, return. Our taxi to the airport cost more :emoticon-0136-giggl.
