Just had to cancel our Xmas AirBnB in rural Cheshire Asked if we could transfer the booking to a later date - no Could the owner be flexible because we cancelled less than 2 hours into the 5 day lower refund window - no Suffice to say after losing over £200 for cancelling a 3 night stay (less than 30% net refund), we won't be rebooking that property Shame that the AirBnB was so much nicer than the owners
The neighbours, including two GPs, are fine. I haven’t tried to look it up, but what are the sanctions if we are shopped? It’s a bastard, and this constant chopping and changing is a nightmare, though it was predictable just by looking at the direction most of Europe is going in. To be honest I’d be much more comfortable in a few weeks when my old dear has had the second jab and is as safe as she can be. Because I am pretty certain that she will die if she gets it, she is all there and looks after herself fine, but she has had major heart surgery and suffers from shortness of breath with a little exertion. There is no way I’d have her over if I thought there is a risk, and I think the mental health risk is a greater issue at the moment. As long as we continue to be ultra careful and don’t see anyone else while she is here. We need guidance, rules and strong direction on this, but if they take every decision out of our hands, particularly those where we have a large degree of control, we will end up with a spineless and infantilised population.
It took about three seconds for the usual suspects to start crying on here about random people breaking rules rather than the obvious issue staring you square in the face so actually I’ll post what I ****ing like rather than listen to a Tory apologist.
Up to £10K fine up here, but think that's for repeat offences. No idea what the sanctions are down there though.
Bill Bailey, QPR fan, has just won Strictly. Putting it on here because, although I don’t actually pay much attention, it is on in the house and I’m sure that putting this on seemingly as normal has been a big help to a great many people this year. Good for the BBC and the participants who must have sacrificed a lot in terms of forming bubbles etc to do this. Oh, and ****ing get in Bill Bailey!! You R’s!!
He was extraordinary. I'm sure they booked him as the comedy turn, but from week 1 he took it totally seriously and actually researched every dance. For a guy in his mid fifties, even allowing for his exceptional musicality, to win what is a devastatingly physical competition, is quite amazing.
You've just ruined it for me! We paused it while we ate, so we're about 30 minutes behind. Not really, I couldn't give a toss and I'm not really watching, but I was kind of hoping that Bill Bailey would win.
He's got better footwork than most of our team, sign him up, if we keep losing at least he'll give us a laugh..
The Mrs ran in to tell me as she knew he was a QPR fan! I don't watch it, I'd rather poke my eyes out! I do love Bill Bailey though...
I am the embodiment of campness, can't you tell Wish Warburton could throw a bit of sparkle and razzle-dazzle into our performances!
