If Lee Johnson can get the fit players on the training ground while games are postponed and get rid of any of Parkinson's negative ****e tactics (if you can call them tactics). Better coaching can only improve our players, and our league position.
Hopefully the takeover is allowing Johnson the opportunity to use our break to identify the players he wants to bring in for January. This is one of the positives (amongst many negatives), that it gives him chance to properly take stock and plan instead of game after game. The other benefit if he can bring players in is he gets to use them over more games. And I’m not getting carried away and thinking he’s spending millions here etc - just a few u23s even that suit his intended style.
If there’s a dozen or so who’ve tested positive I wonder if they could get them to train together away from the rest of the squad? I doubt those young fit lads will be suffering symptoms and at least they can still be working on LJ’s style of play and tactics. Or will they all have to remain at home?
pretty sure they will have to isolate, as in family members in family home only...chances are out of all who have had contact with the original 'carrier' maybe one or two will actually end up with covid therefore they could potentially still catch or carry and wont know a damn thing about it.
At least after 10-14 days of Isolation we should almost have a full squad to choose from come the New Year. New training techniques and new players in the squad next year might lead to a promotion challenge.
how would he know that, its only 2 weeks since the squad had it, its hardly gone ' long term' yet. I tested positive on Nov 9th and went through the ilness bit, and i've still got a few issues with breathlessness and fatigue, but I wouldn't consider it 'long covid' until it still affecting me 3-6 months down the line.
I think you’re right there, long COVID is usually attributed to someone with breathing difficulties 3 or so months further on from originally having the disease. Bruce talking his usual ****e readying his excuses.
Think this will be a testing time for LJ interms of how he manages the squad. Zoom meetings physio fitness training boosting morale keep them fired up so when we do play the are like a greyhound out of the trap raring to go and with a taste for success. If he can manage that then I will be impressed as far too many of our squad look like they not really up for the fight as I believe they have no confidence in themselves at a higher level but some look like they relish the challenge. Just hope he gets everybody pulling in the right direction and then who knows what the new year will bring.
Praying you make a full recovery marra. I think it will be different for highly trained athletes, they'll know when the turbo button is not available. Bruce: two other players were "struggling and they have been struggling for a while with it". Asked when they might return, he added: "I really don't know but certainly, for a couple of the players in particular, it's had a damaging effect. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55366088
