I voted to remain, not that I was any fan of the EU far from it, but it did give Europe stability, and that outweighed any of the petty financial arguments against it. The only beneficiaries from this mess, voted for by a mis-informed public, (just what happened to the Brexit Party), are our incumbent Westminster dis-honourables, and the wider anti-democratic onlookers who must be delighted at the long term damage we have inflicted on ourselves.

We live in quite a strange time where critical thinking is really misunderstood due to rampant tribalism. Everyone needs to fit into a box.

I've been pegged as a left wing maniac because I'm not a fan of Trump or Boris. Disliking those two says absolutely nothing about my political leanings other than I don't like those two politicians.

I don't have anything positive to say about the labour party but that doesn't really matter. I'm a left wing extremist trying to force my opinions on people <doh>

TBH I don't know which American parties are which, I just don't like Trump because he's unpleasant.

He's just plainly not a good person by any decent person's standards.

I really hope your post brexit land of milk and honey comes to fruition because, as working class people living in the UK, we are all in the same boat and will all reap the 'benefits' of our choice equally.

Not long back on here someone said you can’t blame Corbyn for everything now well imo you can because if they had a decent leader instead of him ( who they voted in ) we wouldn’t have this government in so they’ve got exactly what they deserve but are to stupid to admit it.

No, just noticing that if you're calling other people stupid it's best not to make elementary spelling mistakes.

That's one of the of the reasons I don't get involved. Reports from the Institute for Government, OBR or Gov.Uk get shot down by memes and gifs made in someones bedroom.

There are a number of letters in English that are not pronounced or pronounced differently in certain words. This pattern of irregularity affects about 25% of English words, but within that 25% are about 400 of the most frequently used words.

People who have difficulty spelling might draw little comfort from the fact that, had they lived prior to the 18th century, their “poor” spelling might have gone unnoticed. Until that time, there was considerable flexibility in the way people spelt words.

Shakespeare, for example, spelt his own name in several different ways and did not think this was remarkable. The invention of dictionaries in the 18th century “froze” the language. Thereafter, a line was drawn between “correct” and “incorrect” spelling.

Indeed iirc it was therefore said in the 18th century, freeborn englishmen could spell as they wish..

Perhaps we should have the same rule on this board, every Sunderland fan can spell as she or he thinks fit, tbh I think we all do that anyhow!

Americans purport to use English but their spelling is awful, eg they 'labor' under the misapprehension they are right!

I shouldn't bite but I really struggle not to, it's hard to ignore when blatant propaganda based on mistruth is pushed.

Shame that they will be manufactured in France
You really couldn't make it up :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Reminds me of the campaign in the early 70's "made in Britain" and we used to get little badges saying "made in Britain" except the badges were made in Japan :emoticon-0102-bigsm
Well what goes around comes around I suppose, if you didn't laugh you'd cry
