Bruce's signings

As I say his use of the squad on matchday is solely his responsibility. Who arrives there isn't.

He will be in for a nasty surprise if thinks he's getting any form of control under Ashley

 

He asked for all of these players and he got them... You know why? Because they're not very good that's why.... Sorry but they're very much his signings and all of them bar Wilson are poor..

The likes of max, Almiron are clearly not his because he tries his best to favour his picks..... I think he might have said yes to Joelinton too.

Lewis is a young defender yet once again our supporters think he should be a worldie and hounding him
Hendrick has come from a better team with a manager who knows how to set up teams and now has Bruce.

 

Again all he's done is selected from the options given. I'm sure if you'd given the scouts 60m in the summer he'd have picked differently - I'm not saying he'd pick perfect but actually he's got a good record at his previous clubs. Many good players have been discovered by scouts and selected by him. Its the management bit he hasn't got a clue on.

We are what we are under this owner, I personally think this whole subject is a waste of time while Ashley remains. It can't change. Even if you take Bruce out of the equation, and look to a man the fans loved like Rafa. His signings were poor. Fans raved about them but we were mid-low in the table under him too so they can't have been that good! He left us with a very one dimensional squad which could only play defensive counter. As much as Rafa loves negative football, I'm sure he'd have liked better players with which to deploy it. Full control of transfers under Ashley is actually full 'control' i.e. minimal control. Why would he allow anything else? Its just greater risk as far as he's concerned.

Joelinton arrived just after Bruce arrived. Solely down to the scouting team. They've probably said "do you want to go ahead with this?". He's probably trusted the scouting team.

Nothing against our scouts, they probably have a tough time on budgets. But I'd question any team that thought Joelinton was worth 40m. That signing alone tells you how our transfers work - it progressed when we had no manager

If he's bad he's bad in not rating players using the excuse of being young.

Ah that's fine, he's gash at present. I'm struggling to see why our scouts thought he was a good option. I am even more baffled that Liverpool and their stellar scouting department thought likewise. I just can't see it, he's in a constant state of panic.

Fair play mate... Its all opinions I'm just misunderstood most of the time.

Liverpool just didn't t want him that much..

 

I want Lewis to improve. I'm happy to give him time. But if its just judging current performance, he's been ****. I think there is obvious ability in certain regards but he has been taken to the cleaners so far.

 

I'd like all the players to improve, but the reality I see is them getting worse

 

I've watched him live playing for Bournemouth many times. When he was fit for extended periods he was really good for some time. Very incisive and was defensively strong. He hasn't played regular games for some time now though.

 

His numbers say poor for 4 of 5 seasons.. Never rated him at Bournemouth.. I think he's a run of the mill player... Fast.. Basic but I guess time will tell...

 

Agree with Wilson - amazing how quick he has settled in.

Lewis - think he will actually develop into a very good left-back with time. His decision making is sometimes off (e.g West Brom) but that's to be expected with a young defender. He also needs to be encouraged to attack the full back more when he has cover in place, in case he loses it. He often takes the easy path of playing it square to a midfielder or back to a centre-back when we are in a good position and it slows the move down.

Fraser - squad player but not starting eleven. Much rather have an Almiron.

Hendrick - just another Hayden. Actually I prefer Hayden.

That's going to happen unless the clubs in. The bottom 3 imo.. Its possible we are very close to is after our next 4 Fulham, City, Liverpool and Leicester... I think he needs a result from Fulham or he will be starting to become under serious threat of losing his job in a month's time, but I just want is to win.. It's like fans would rather keep losing and hope he gets sacked. That'll be a disaster because the takeover won't happen if they're in serious trouble... We have to hope Bruce gets us in a good position by the time the arbitration case is done.... He'll be gone post takeover in te
the summer anyway.

Fact is since this post we have declined so fast.

But should we be surprised. All the big signings where from previous years relegated clubs.

Hendrick was allowed to leave Burnley.
