Good Morning. It's Wednesday 16th December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Daniel James available in January

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is apparently ready to cut his losses and part with Welsh International Dan James

You'll recall that James came very close to joining Leeds in the January transfer window two years ago. Only the pernicious actions of then Chairman Huw Jenkins scuppered the deal leaving both Leeds fans and James devastated! Jenkins was subsequently sacked for his actions.

With Amad Diallo on his way from Atalanta to Old Trafford next month for for £37million, surely its time for the Welsh International to move on! He's already third choice.

There is talk about a subsequent loan deal which would be made permanent in the Summer.

We know that Bielsa is a big fan of James, but surely Leeds don't need another winger since the arrival of Raphinha during the Summer!

Perhaps Bielsa is thinking of moving the Brazilian away from the wing, or do we think Costa's days are numbered?

Which wing is stronger. On the left we have Harrison, Alioski and Dallas, and on the right we have Ayling, Raphinha and Costa.

Would the money be better spent on a defender who can defend free kicks or perhaps a recognised left back?

Saint-Maximin amongst four missing for Magpies

Steve Bruce disclosed in his pre match presser yesterday that Fabian Schar, Javier Manquillo, Allan Saint-Maximin and club captain Jamaal Lascelles will all be absent for the trip to Elland Road this tea time!

Having Saint-Maximin sidelined will have a massive effect on the game. The 23yo number 10 has been their star player this term, which has seen his price tag soar in recent months.

This is a blow for the Magpies as they will have been hoping to welcome back more defenders after deploying a much-changed backline against West Brom.

Leeds gaffer Marcelo Bielsa started his presser by expressing his sadness over the death of Gerard Houllier and what the French man bought to the game. He then tried to explain how his team were suddenly going to become masters at defending set pieces. Apart from not giving away stupid free kicks in dangerous area's I'm not sure how the Argentine is going to achieve this. He couldn't when we were in the Championship so what makes him think he can do it on the big stage?

Thankfully Bielsa didn't disclose his starting line up. Let's hope he has finally learnt his lesson there!

    Good morning.

We already have plenty of half decent but out of form wingers, Dan James would just be another name to that list. If Bielsa wants him though then I'm sure he must have a plan.

I see Moses Odubajo upset the Wednesday fans yesterday when he was laughing and High-fiving Grabban after his goal against them. I'd be seething if that was a Leeds player but it's probably the least of their problems having not won in eight matches under Pulis.

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Bielsa spoke about not having his best CBs available, he spoke about disruptions in defence through injuries. He also said the 4 goals conceded from set plays were by great headers of the ball. We know he does facts well, we know he speaks from data analysis with no bull. We also know he has more clean sheets in his career than any other manager in Europe, so why do we try and pick holes in the way he does things. I watched Man City V WBA last night and how similar City were when up against a parked bus and a determined team full of tall players. City were trying cross after cross (Like we do) but not finding anyone because City have no tall players up front. They tried to pass it through the bus with no luck. Frustrating for Pep and City fans but a great result for Bilic. This is a weird season for results so far and you can bet more to come.

I wouldn't have Dan James at the club now because it would mean Harrison getting dropped. Man Utd fans say James has been played on the wrong side and much better on the left. Think we would need to sell Costa or Poveda and for me Poveda is the future and James is the past

Dunno if signing Dan James is a good idea. How many wingers do we need?
We've got Harrison, Alioski, Poveda, Costa, Pablo, Raphinha, Dallas, is that not enough? Rodrigo can also play on the wing.
Much rather we loaned or bought a true number 10 like RDP and or brought in a proper left-back/centre-back.

    Morning all,

Not sure we need James but that's up to Bielsa.

Wba on verge of swapping Bilic for Allardyce. Can't believe we are missing out on Allardyce to keep us up. :emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl

Meanwhile, we've no number 10, Struijk a CB who MB won't pick even though we're short-handed there, Davis aLB that MB also won't pick even though we've no other LB, and El Clowno is currently our back-up to Meslier.
Think we need other positions filled sooner than we need another addition to our legion of wingers.

Did Bielsa really say that Llorente & Koch are his best CBs? I can't believe he'd publicly rank his players like that.

So the useless twats at WBA have sacked Slaven Bilic and look like are going to bring in Big Sam. They deserve relegation

So what have we got for the £35m?

Koch. Has some serious deficiencies, particularly in the box. Tendency to gift goals to the opposition. Prone to giving away penalties, & has slotted in seamlessly to a defence that regularly ships goals to set pieces.

Llorente. Hardly played. Easily injured. Has a reputation, but we've seen little evidence of it.

Is this enough to make them the Bielsa's go-to CBs? Surely their performances for us are aspirational, rather than actual?

I have to say that based purely on actual performances, you have no option but to say that Cooper & Ayling are presently our best CBs. We can only hope that the newbies earn that title.

i am baffled too at times, but how can any of us fathom what Bielsa feels is correct, we just need to go along with him. Struijk is a CB and is as good as Ayling. Ayling would be best back at RB, Leif Davies has gone backwards and in my view is behind Naill Huggins who is way better than Alioski i prefer to see Dallas at LB and Huggins after him. Rodrigo is our best 10 at this stage and we now have Pablo back too, but we do need to recruit for this role

Reports out of Spain saying Llorente has no history of injuries but because of the original injury picked up on International duty. Bielsa didnt want to bring him back without 2 games in the 23s but was forced into it which damaged him again. He will be back next week.

Koch has had some great performances but unluckily at fault a couple of times, but hes playing in makeshift defences as he had no Cooper to start with so played with Struijk. But having a go at Koch is pointless as he is in the Premier League with a new team and for me is an upgrade on Ben White and lets face it how well is Ben White doing at relegation fodder Brighton, would he be better than Koch a full International?

Cooper plays because hes a good skipper and before the season is over he may well be sat on the bench. Cooper is also the only player who cannot play a different position
