Accrington got off to a bad start in their first two games of the season, but that soon changed when they came up against the Posh. Since then, they've rarely looked back and their form has been consistent. Consistently good! Yet they are only 3 points ahead of us in the table, but have two games in hand.

Unlike Doncaster where I said we would get tanked and all but for a gift from the footballing gods, we would have been, I feel we are probably on par with Accrington, if our team puts in a full shift.

In the prediction league I've gone for a 0-1 defeat, the games between us have been close, as grumpygit's link shows.

I've saved myself £20 on the last two games mate. The outcomes were obvious, with Graham out, so my judgement on finances proved sound.

First half terrible. Second half better but we need to create more. Only one shot on target.

It is becoming difficult to defend the team and the management at the moment

Anyone know when Graham is back or the extent of his injury?

There is no defence ( and I'm not just talking about on the pitch ).
I have long ago reached the end of my tether with our tactics --- or rather the tactic of Evans. We just seem to hoof the ball into the opposition half. Our one striker struggles to win the ball and/or lay it off ( to nobody !!! .) -- possession is lost - and the opposition then play - on the deck - and ultimately go past defenders who are not good enough ( especially if they're not in position ). The only amazement in the games that we've lost is that the defeats haven't been heavier.

I don't know if I can blame the players - because, (( all too infrequently )), we have seen some half decent football - but- the frequency of launching the ball is obviously an instruction from Evans..... It doesn't work - but we have no Plan B..... Einstein said that a sign of madness is repeatedly doing the same thing wrong, and expecting a different result -- so -- Mr.Evans '' You're mad !......

........ but - obviously not as mad as me for continuing to pay to watch.

It could be worse, just think if you were in the ground watching it live, no wife to serve you with another cold beer.

I'm going to ask a question now which may be controversial, but are we better off now with Mr Evans than we were under our previous manager. No doubt the contacts Mr Evans has was far greater than Mr Lovell but this season, I haven't seen an improvement in style of play. If anything I think we've become more reliant on one style of play than we have been for a while. A lack of an experienced centre back is certainly starting to hurt us now we head into the busy Christmas period also.

Yes we're mid table and perhaps we may be a tad bit lower under Lovell but we at least scored a few more goals in that team. I'm not for one minute saying that we should sack Mr Evans, I personally wasn't overly enamoured by sacking Lovell but I'm failing to see how we're any better off at the moment. Anyone got any answers for me?

Pegleg -- nothing controversial with your post !
For most of this season, the football has been horrible to watch - whether the manner of defeats or the constant lumping (hoofing), the ball from our defenders - to the grateful opposition players -- who invariably play on the pitch - as opposed to the sky !
I am not suggesting that we have players who will be able to always beat the opposition when the ball is played to feet -- but, at the moment, we just give it a big kick upfield and immediately lose possession - which eventually ends up badly.
We have occasionally shown that we can create something when we have spread the ball on the grass - but that has been so rare....
I said earlier that our current style is not working (( even a couple of wins we've had could have been heavy defeats )), and will ultimately lead us to slowly ( or quickly ) drop down the table -- and then have to rely on four worse teams to ensure our league survival.......
.... We've had too many relegation battles for several years. The style of football always seem to be similar -- it is NOT entertainment......... and I'm not sure that a ''cheap'' ifollow subscription will encourage 'loyal' fans to part with £ 25 ++ ++ + extras, or for lapsed 'fans' to return.. If we were allowed 4,000 in our ground, I'd be surprised if that number would turn up.

What the 'highlights' don't show is the number of corners, in the first half - from the Medway Stand side, which were poorly defended - and which were targeted at Bonham- who struggled to cope.
As for the attempt by Oliver ( lay off from Akinde ), my nan could have done better... and the second goal was so much of a joke - and it's just as well that the 'lead up ' to the actual goal isn't shown -- many people would be fuming at the appalling attempt to clear our lines... And, Mr. Drysdale best position at the moment is on top of a Christmas tree (( actually, with our 'hoofball', he might stand a chance of connecting with the ball - as opposed to fresh air. ))

.... happy days !.............. I dread to think how much worse it will get once our players have pulled their crackers next week !! -- WHAT - are you saying that they already have pulled them ? ( is that why they can't run ? )

Not good that, we lost one in the air, yet have 10ft strikers, and the second goal was just shocking.

Lost count of the number of times I've said this now, we'd be better off getting our front big boys back and letting players like Ogilvie and Medley (when he's fit) going forward. We've got an arse about face team, with League Two tactics.

Take a look at the problem, ALL of our strikers were substituted during the game, what does that tell us! You really don't need to answer.

Then when we are getting in shots on goal, to no avail, there is generally someone like Dempsey free in the middle, there is no foresight, there is no acknowledement of where the midfield players are positioned, often left unmarked, because we are so predictable.

I've saved myself £20 on the last two games, because i predicted both defeats, it's doing my position great in the prediction league, but that's not where we need the points!

We are seriously missing Graham, we knew we would have problems if he got injured, and our foresight proved us to be right. I don't want to be right, I want to be wrong, I want the players to show me they are better than the rubbish I write.

Budget wise, our position in the league is better than it should be, we are lucky to still have a team with covid, but it makes my next point even stronger - paying wages is a necessity of life, but our club has a necessity to, that's for the players to prove they are worthy of what they take home.

People can say, you get what you pay for, well Accrington Stanley of all teams managed it, they even managed to get out of L2 on one of the tightest budgets in the Leagues, if memory serves me right.

    Rant over.

I'm beginning to get a bit P'd off with one particular comment that Evans has repeated after all our recent defeats -- where he claims that for parts of the game Gills were ''outstanding'' !!!!!!!!!!!
Is Evans stupid - or does he think that I am stupid (( other than continuing to pay for a season ticket )). If he thinks that any aspect of our play in the last two games (( let alone in the run of 5 goalless games )), could be rated as outstanding -- then he needs to be given his P45.

I'll tell you what is outstanding -- what I can 'produce' after a hot curry - which is not a lot different to the ' outstanding' football by Gills.
Evans -please stop talking outstanding diarrhea !
