Power and Diamond are one of those combinations that take you by surprise, and I would like to see that pairing retained , replacing Scowen if necessary is a decision I will leave to LJ, he hasn't put a foot wrong so far, and long may it continue. For a win tonight could be the start of a run to that takes us up as champions. OaUwLJ.
It will be interesting to see how we play against teams that come to the SOL and just park the bus. Saturday's game was open and Lincoln were confident of a result. It will be different tonight, they will get behind the ball in two banks of four. It will be a test for us playing between their lines and getting behind them, I reckon Johnson will work it out though 2-0 to the Lads
Rumours from RTG Scowen is out for 4-6 weeks and a first team player is out due to a positive Covid test
Lee Johnson has urged his players to continue raising the bar ahead of Tuesday’s match-up against AFC Wimbledon. The Lads will be looking to build on a superb 4-0 win at Lincoln City when they welcome Glyn Hodges' outfit to Wearside on Tuesday evening, with the Dons looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat at Charlton Athletic. Johnson’s side currently sit eighth in Sky Bet League One, but a buzz has returned to the city after back-to-back wins and the red and white army have their sights firmly set on the top two. Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s game, the Head Coach underlined his process and urged his players to keep chipping away. "I'm very happy that there's a buzz after the weekend,” he said. "The fans have to be allowed to do whatever they want - if they want to get carried away with the euphoria of a particular result or run, brilliant; if they want to be pessimistic then that's OK too, because the club belongs to the fans and we understand that.” He continued: "I'm here in charge but it is so simple for me, it has to be about the process. "I can't guarantee a scoreline, but what I should be able to guarantee is a consistency of philosophy. "I've only been here ten days but I’m very enthused by the way the players have taken on board all the detail and been able to implement it so quickly, in what was clearly a difficult game at this level when you look at Lincoln's league position. "That's very encouraging moving forward, but we have to keep on chipping away at it. “They did 85 percent of what I asked them to do, and we have to keep on raising that bar."
If it’s owt like the flu he should be down to a decent playing weight by then the fat useless bastard.
I reckon I would have got a ticket for tonight if we were allowed, even though the oxford pricks are still here, really looking forward to tonight
Yes, it's an unusual feeling, it's match day an I'm really excited instead of being fearful of yet another turgid display and possible draw. Long may it continue!
HA'WAY THE LADS MACKEMS ATTACKEM Ha'way Johnson lad, get stuck in to the bastids. Attack Attack Attack
This reminds me of the old scoreboard at Roker which had a daft tank on it with the words attack attack! We rarely did!
