Always remember the 2nd leg against roma at Anfield, we needed a 2 nil win (or win by 2 goals can't remember) Mr Houllier had left hospital & surprised everyone by turning up and taking a seat just before kick off, it raised the roof and the team responded brilliantly by winning that game and going onto win 5 cups that year.

Yeh had to resign due to health issues.
 
My second username on the old BBC 606 forum was "Houllier Than Thou" in honour of him.

Great ex-manager. Had faults as we all do, but took us into the modern age. Was the first manager at liverpool when I first got back into watching football.
