The interviewer is a mouth piece for the club. If we lost 10 -0 he'd find positives. The sooner we get fans back in the stadiums the better as then ****s like GM will know what we truly think.
What will be the reaction towards him if we are still top of the league when we are allowed back in ?
Come on mate, you know the first rule of internet support - it's the managers fault when we lose, he's lucky when we win!
"Managers get too much of the blame when things go badly and too much of the credit when things go well." Alf Ramsey
Its the managers fault when he can't see what is blindingly obvious to every other fkr watching the game
Yup, it's a miracle how we're top of the league and won more games than any other team with this **** in charge.
Yes it is considering the stubborn tactics he employs .. and how long do you think our 3 main midfielders will last chasing their arses off trying to compete against 4 man midfields ? We've played a third of the season and they look fkd already. As I said earlier if we go up it will be in spite of him not because of him. The quality of this squad for this division should see us top 2 but the way its going this lot will be knackered by Easter. Its easy to sit crowing about being top now .. let's see where we are once his tactics have run them into the ground.
What do 'we' truly think? Personally speaking he does have his faults but somehow we're still top of the table, yes,he needs to learn how to counteract the opposing managers tactics and if that doesn't come and we were languishing mid table by the time we get back on the terraces then maybe he would cop some flak,up until that point then he deserves a shot at it? He didn't deliberately go out yesterday with a view to losing and wouldn't have expected our best midfielder, among others, to have a howler. It seems to me that there are some on here who have an entirely fixed mind on McCann and wouldn't budge if we were 20 points clear at the end of the season.
He should get booked every time he does it. He doesn't jump for the ball, doesn't have his eye on the ball and he isn't 'shielding' the ball as he's not in possession of it. He's essentially body-checking his opponent in a 50-50 aerial challenge. Like you said, blatant gamesmanship, but because he's England's Golden Boy the media and English pundits thinks the sun shines out of his arse so it's 'clever tactics' instead of the perfidious cheating foreign players do. It's gonna take a serious, career-ending injury like Ryan Mason's before Kane gets the criticism he deserves for his dangerous foul-play.
He has continued to make the same glaring mistakes that he did last season .. his inflexibility has already cost us relegation .. and if we aren't carful it will cost us this season. I'm all for giving someone a cha ce but not if he is continuing to make the same mistakes over and over again. Dont you think its coincidental that our midfield who have played well for most parts and now looking leggy and as such off form ? That is because they are trying to do the work of an extra man in there .. it isnt rocket science to see how we get overrun .. yet despite this he trots out the same old garbage match after match .. if he starts thinking and using his noddle and actuly adopts tactics to help his team I will be right behind him but at the minute he is looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights every time an opposing manager comes up with a different plan (i.e. 4 in midfield)
I'm firmly of the opinion that half the squad threw in the towel last season and downed tools, surely they have to take a sizeable proportion of the blame for relegation. This season, when we've passed the ball well we've easily won games and simply haven't been overrun anywhere on the pitch.Yesterday there were some tired legs on display and some of the sloppiest passing for months so he needs to address that by Tuesday without doubt and if Honeyman needs a break then so be it.
I guess the same. McCann has only the one plan. He seems oblivious to the tactics of the other team. His tactics next games will be exactly the same as before. His substitutions are always like for like. As was posted on here earlier city are where they are in spite of him not because of him
Sorry mate but you're being blinkered, there's been several poor displays this season .. usually against teams that put 4 across the middle .. we've got away with it a few times but as the lads are becoming jaded mistakes are creeping in. Thats what happens when a manager continues with the same daft formation expecting the poor buggers to perform miracles week in week out. You say players downed tools .. do you really think with a tactically aware coach we would have gone on such a poor run ? If you do you're kidding yourself sorry. Players will play for a coach or manager that commands respect.. not one that hides when the going gets tough .. and certainly not one that sets them up in formations that give them little chance of competing.
So on that score if we win the league or god forbid get promoted will he be dragged down Millhouse Wood Lane and put into the public stocks on Cottingham Green or not ?
Its a bigger discussion RG but just why/ if they did/ down tools. Did the players think his tactics self destructive?.. was it a contract situation..?. either way As BAB has said, he hasn't learnt, he doesn't look like he wants to learn, or doesn't have the skill set to think quick enough to change it and counter. Some will like him some won't, but none his us will put up with the demise of last season one league lower. Lets hope it doesn't happen.
I agree with some of your post,in that,if we fall away this season there is no hiding place for him and subsequently he'll be looking for alternative employment.
Exactly. Just managing who gets access so he doesn't get any difficult questions which exposes the limitations. Dire.
