Played well, looked fitter ,more energy about the team, wycke is usually exhausted after 70 minutes maybe through the whole team closing down a lot better
Definitely. We looked excellent at times before he went. Away to Gillingham, was it 4-0 or 4-1. Maguire, Honeyman, Gooch, and Maja all really clicked that day.
Aside from two opportunities that they had from super fast breaks we were dominant from start to finish. When we weren't at our best we managed the game until again we were well on top.
Huge result that. When was the last time we scored 4? Against one of the better teams in the league no less.
Excellent performance. We could have been punished early doors when we were caught cold down our right hand side, but after that we dominated and at last looked potent in attack.
Didn't we beat Palace 4-0 and we got three before half time like yesterday, that surely wasn't ten years ago.?
Played well yesterday and hope we continue to do that over the season but at home against the poorer teams we will face the same problems as they pack the box and just look to counter. We need to add a striker and midfielder that can help us in this situations.
Bugger it. Just when I thought the disease, (supporting SAFC), was abating, almost to the point of cure, THIS HAPPENS. We might have a manager who wants us to win games. I CAN HOPE for better things ahead. So, I think that it could be back to the worrying
just checked we beat Palace on 4.2.17 and were 4-0 up at half time. so in three and a bit years we've gone from that to where we are now, unbelievable. don't know where they got ten years from.
Reading these very upbeat posts, most of which I agree with, Saturday was our best performance for years. So, pouring a bit of cold water on expectations, or perhaps one swallow does not a summer make... Let's hope, takeover/investment is finalised this week... We offload duds and bring in a couple of pacy strikers in jan.. Give the new manager at least 10-15 games to assess impact, although I concur the players seemed to operate under more freedom and more attacking urgency at Lincoln, long may it continue. Not just new manager bounce. We might, just might have seen a glimmer of hope of promotion on Saturday.
Most Sunderland Fans can conjure up a blazing Summer, nine months long while sitting at home and hearing on the radio a scratched record of a bird cry that just might have been a swallow. It's the way we have been brought up.
Great result, really encouraging. I'm terrified about our game on Tuesday in case it was all just a passing phase .... no pun intended.
