Too soon for Ainsworth?...I thought he was kind of next in line...maybe not what we need right now though
I have to agree with Ellers and West Windsr here - Dykes won't score enough goals/we concede far too easily/Paul Cook is a good shout. To be honest when Warburton was appointed I thought it was a reasonably sensible choice, but as many others have said on here no real progress - yes we play some nice football but (sorry for stating the bleedin' obvious) not scoring/conceding too easily will only send us one way (Gresty Rd/Priestfield/Boomfield Rd/Plough Lane etc). Harsh, but change needs to happen sooner rather than later....
Agree Ainsworth would/is struggling. We need someone who can sort a defence out and bring in a decent forward.
Your Dykes obsession is getting tiresome. He's decent enough, but as we never cross the ball, he's not going to get any chances.
For those that watched on TV, did no one think that the ball was out of play on the sideline just before they scored? We had a good view of it and I thought it was out, but my son didn't.
Sure I am disappointed at the recent results and frailties within the squad to turn dominance into positive results. But I don't think this is the right time to be considering replacing Warburton. You have to look at some of what we have lost and limited options up front without a quality striker. We have looked poor defensively (gross understatement) and for me that should be the priority to fix. We can then hope that in January we can loan a decent striker who knows how to score and work on a system of playing that gives good supply rather than just tippy-tappy possession. I think a consortium of three Not606'ers could do a better job of motivating the players and deliver on the potential. I just hope that Warburton and his coaching staff can figure it out soon. We have plenty of time to get it right, don't we?
I am refraining from comment because I feel a bit like Marvin the paranoid android waiting to be picked up at the restaurant at the end of the universe. Cheers!
I would give him until the end of January, but tell him in no uncertain terms that his team needs to start delivering. After all, bringing in a replacement now would not see any change for a few weeks. I do agree that you should try and work with what you've got but also recognise that there comes a time when you have to concede that it's not enough. Just reflect back a few weeks, we were playing good football and getting results, so we know we have the capability within the squad.
Mark Warburton win% all games as manager - 48% Nigel Pearson - 40% THE STATS DONT LIE BIG UBES, WE ALREADY HAVE A GRADE A TOP DOG, HUGE BOLLOCKED GENIUS AT THE HELM. Besides, Pearso is crackers. Who else?
