Rick, with respect, you are ignoring the point. It's not about whether Forest were perfect in every respect in their defending. They were successfully limiting us to low probability shots from distance; 13 of our 20 shots were either from the edge of the area (3) or outside the extremity of the arc (10). In effect, what Holty was saying was "Well, at least with Forest defending as they are we have the chance of a deflected goal". He said it precisely because Forest were defending well and we didn't otherwise look like scoring. In my book that's a compliment to Forest's defending, not a criticism of it!

Not sure the inhabitants of the Western Isles of Scotland would entirely agree with you there Zog! Re. the Aussies, they've always seemed to me peculiarly averse to venturing anywhere beyond the boundaries of the big cities. Take a flight to Alice Springs and there'll barely be one Aussie on it!

You're still constructing your argument with assumptions, Robbie, like your comment that Holty "said it precisely because Forest were defending well and we didn't otherwise look like scoring". That wasn't my understanding of what he meant in answer to Goreham's comment about how tightly bunched Forest's defence was. Forest also got away with a blatant handball which prevented a goal - I suppose that's good defending as well. It's odd that you always seem to see the best in the opposition performance and the worst in our play. Forest managed 13 shots, only 2 of which were on target, one being the cross-come-shot from outside the area for their goal (by comparison, 6 of our 20 shots were on target).

Ain't that the truth ! He obviously holds Hughton in higher regard than Farke.. And that is a FACT !

That appearance is simply a reflection of how one-eyed most posters on here are. Football is a wonderful game; it's played between two teams; and we have no monopoly on good play. The disinterest -- and in effect disrespect -- towards other teams rather saddens me.

Obviously? Would you like to produce some concrete evidence Mike? No?
And by the way, DF himself appears to have a pretty good opinion of CH, as witness what he's said whenever they have crossed swords.

If I was to go through all your posts for the last couple of seasons , I would find plenty of evidence. Can I actually be bothered? No.
Did you correct me when I suggested you have a higher regard for Hughton than for Farke......No.

"DF himself appears to have a pretty good opinion of CH " I also have a good opinion of CH. Irrelevant in equal measures to what I actually suggested.

    Disinterested, disrespectful, one eyed poster.

I believe that was a contentious statement rather than a factual assertation born out by your input to this discussion.

No, you wouldn't find any evidence, because there isn't any; and there isn't any because I don't rate CH higher than DF. Take a leaf from my book; stick to posting about football and cut out the personal stuff.

Suggesting most posters on here are one eyed, disinterested and disrespectful is personal.
