I bet he knows how to handle him to at least get him to give it a proper go, probably the first manager we've had who will put an arm round his shoulders which he desperately needs by the look of him. Looking at the crossing graphic someone posted there was more consistency in where they went to so if we can get it into Wyke's head to be in the right place at the right time for once then he should benefit too.
Very true - I really don't understand why our target man ends up down the wing and crossing it in. To who exactly?
And what's the point of lumping it up to him on his own, what's he supposed to do, leap a metre in the air, chest it down while airborne, trap it expertly, skin three defenders and slam it into the corner? He has done quite well in terms of scoring but I don't feel Parky played to his strengths.
Having listened to LJ again there i have total faith. Reassuring to hear that there is opportunities of making signings and knowing they have very good contacts for the best of the u21s. I think his interview puts to bed any thoughts the new owners were part of the interview process though
Yeah - Wyke is not my favourite but he is our top scorer. I'm not sure what his strengths are but I could quite easily rattle off all of his weaknesses.
I'd say he's best with the ball on the deck and linking up with players close to him, pretty crap at holding it up and winning headers.
Like what he has to say. He's a real student of the game and has loads of contacts at Prem clubs. Hopefully we can get some young lads in in Jan. As for Saturday. Looking forward to seeing how we play and happy to give him a bit of time. (I know he doesn't have long but) Really can't call to be honest. I think our football will be attacking and refreshing but its early days and I think it will leave us open at the back at times until we get used to it. Can see us shipping a goal or two hope this doesn't get to the players Also bit of a stuck record but with this squad at the moment I am struggling to see where the goals are coming from. Saying all that its a great test against a team who will attack us. 2-1 Sunderland KTF
Out of the current front three you could be right, their is a footballer in their and he looks like he is trying to lift his game this season, love to see him grab a hat trick and go on a run, and if anybody can get him up to speed it will be LJ.
we drew at Fleetwood when they won their last 2 games 4-1 and 5-1, any team can beat any team in this division. Hull top now in Dec but Pompey were flying 2 years ago, last season Ipswich and jammy Wycombe also flopped and look at Blackpool putting a run together now, i cannot even predict who will finish in the top 6 this season, but January will be the big month to have Mcgeady and Diamond flying plus 2 strikers added and a pacy midfielder.
I agree I just don't think we've got any quality at all up front Grigg Graham wyke are all ****e and it must be Johnsons number 1 priority in January
Looking forward to this one tomorrow! They won't be sitting back with 10 men behind the ball, should be a good open game!
Whilst I think Johnson has good intentions, it's going to take a while to get a) the right players in and/or b) the current players improved enough Can't see anything other than a home win sadly
