think the team picks itself for this one. Regulation 2-0 win Grant McCann has provided a fitness update ahead of the Tigers’ League One match against Shrewsbury Town. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the boss confirmed that Tom Eaves, who was withdrawn against Crewe in the Papa John’s Trophy through illness, had a Covid-19 test yesterday. The result has since come back negative. Martin Samuelsen is set to have another scan on the calf injury that saw him pull up in the warm-up ahead of the Crewe game. McCann explained: “Martin has had a scan but nothing is too clear on the scan so the physios want to rescan Martin’s calf to get to the bottom of it. “That will take place today so we should know more over the weekend. It’s very unlikely he’ll be available for Saturday.” Jordy de Wijs has trained all week and will be available for selection, as will Dan Batty, who will train this afternoon for the first time since recovering from a hamstring injury. Alfie Jones and namesake Callum (both hamstring) will be the only players unavailable.
City win but I think they'll park the bus and frustrate us.They have drawn a lot of games this season so we need to be at them from the off.
After reading this, I was suprised to find Shrewsbury was not the birthplace of Bill and Ben. The town was the early capital of the Kingdom of Powys, known to the ancient Britons as Pengwern, signifying "the alder hill"; and in Old English as Scrobbesburh (dative Scrobbesbyrig), which may mean either "Scrobb's fort" or "the fortified place in the bushes". This name gradually evolved in three directions, into Sciropscire, which became Shropshire; into Sloppesberie, which became Salop/Salopia (an alternative name for both town and county), and into Schrosberie, which eventually became the town's name, Shrewsbury. Its later Welsh name Amwythig means "fortified place". Charles Darwin was from Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury School magazine was edited by Richard Ingrams, Willie Rushton, Christopher Booker and Paul Foot in the 1950s, and went on to become Private Eye. Shrewsbury won the Welsh Cup six times, a record for an English club, and this record will stand for ever as English-based clubs have not been able to take part since early 1990s. Shrewsbury Flower Show is the "Longest Running Horticultural Show in The World. Shrewsbury had the oldest McDonald's in the world, dating back to the 13th Century, until it closed in 2017. The battle of Shrewsbury, between Henry IV and Harry Hotspur was the first in which English archers fought each other on English soil, and it reaffirmed the effectiveness of the longbow
REVEILLE Wake: the silver dusk returning Up the beach of darkness brims, And the ship of sunrise burning Strands upon the eastern rims. Wake: the vaulted shadow shatters, Trampled to the floor it spanned, And the tent of night in tatters Straws the sky-pavilioned land. Up, lad, up, ‘tis late for lying; Hear the drums of morning play; Hark, the empty highways crying ‘Who’ll beyond the hills away?’ Towns and countries woo together, Forelands beacon, belfries call; Never lad that trod on leather Lived to feast his heart with all. Up, lad: thews that lie and cumber Sunlit pallets never thrive; Morns abed and daylight slumber Were not meant for man alive. Clay lies still, but blood’s a rover; Breath’s a ware that will not keep. Up, lad: when the journey’s over There’ll be time enough to sleep.
Dan Udoh previews Town's Sky Bet League One clash with Hull City at the KCOM Stadium. Shrewsbury Town are on the road this weekend after four consecutive home games to take o Hull City at the KCOM Stadium. Salop will be looking to build on draws in previous Sky Bet League One games as Steve Cotterill's men search for all three points away from home. Town forward Dan Udoh is expecting a tough test from the Tigers but feels Town's preparation has been strong ahead of the tie with the league leaders. On Town's preparation: "I think the rotation from the last game will be very good for some of us going into the weekend. This season has been relentless with so many games back-to-back. "That rotation gave some of the lads an opportunity to rest up, freshen up and go again on Saturday. You tend to have a lot of games around Christmas in a normal season so all you do is recovery and play the match. "The new Gaffer is teaching us a lot and showing us how he wants us to play so we are spending a lot of time at the training ground. I am keeping on top of my recovery and my sleep. "We want to make sure we know the Gaffer's tactics otherwise he will be pulling you up in meetings or one-to-one. He lets everyone know what he wants them to do." On Hull city. "Hull are a really good team in this league and the table shows that. At the end of the day, it's a football match and we have to get ourselves away from where we are and beat them hopefully. "We need to play to the game-plan. We have been working with the Gaffer and looking at where they might be weak. We need to know our strengths and get at them. "If we can stop their flow and impose ourselves on them, I am sure we will be fine."

Steve Cotterill previews Town's Sky Bet League One clash with Hull City at the KCOM Stadium. Shrewsbury Town travel to the KCOM Stadium Saturday afternoon to take on Hull City in the Shrews’ next Sky Bet League One fixture. Town will be looking to secure all three points against the Tigers after drawing 1-1 against Charlton Athletic last time out in the league. Steve Cotterill is expecting a tough test from the league leaders but hopes to see another positive league performance from his team. On training and preparations: “The lads pick things up quickly when we show them. It would take a year of showing them this before it becomes habitual to them but there is lots of information that they have to take on board. We give them lots of options and there are lots of scenarios that we are trying to cram into them. We are giving them answers to problems." On the fixture: “We will approach Hull in the same way we approach every game. Every game is going to be a challenge whether they are top of the league or down the bottom where we are. “Every game is going to be a challenge but we are looking forward to it. We will certainly be ready for the game by the time Saturday comes around. “The game plan isn’t always about stopping the opposition. It’s about what are we going to do to win the game. That will be the hard thing for the lads at the moment. “There are lots of changes and lots of information about different things. I don’t think the key is telling them, I think it’s showing them. We do things until we get it right so they get the picture. There is lots of repetition at the moment because they are being crammed full of information. Squad news: "There is one knock from the other night and I'll know more about that later today. Other than that, the lads that were available to us previous to the other night are available."
I home results are tighter than the away wins. Hopefully tomorrow is a good opportunity to change that.
What’s all that ****e you’re expecting us to read through? Shrewsbury is the place I realised my lad was hooked. City 3 nowt.
If you helped a bit more on mdt I’d be able to concentrate on other matters!! I need to get my priorities sorted
They recently sacked Sam Ricketts. Bastards. Shrewsbury to get an Australian type deal, while City get a tenner deal in Barrow Boys toilets.
Well I will be happy if it's another away manager walking away with nothing but telling us all how good they played and deserved something from the game. Think they have had two draws since he took change and I reckon he will have them well organised so it's up to us to break them down and get them points.
