I think he did not look his best beside Norris but other than that i rate him as a decent player.

Me is someone else that needs a shrink. Im very grateful for his financial input into the club but having spunked away 20 million ish quid on us being ****e since his takeover seems madness to me. he would of been better off putting it on a bonfire in winter - at least that would have kept him warm!

I think ME in hindsight should have sacked Jimbo sooner and appointed a proven manager at this level. He would have saved a shed load of cash as well as all the aggrevation!

Just a side issue bit the bookies have made the Dark Lord favourite for the Nottingham Forest job!

Good luck with that! <ok> <laugh>

I read the story about Gary Ablett in the Mail today and it does say that Keane went to visit Ablett and took the team with him after the victory over Boro last year. You may remember that Ablett was appointed as first team coach but had to leave after his cancer was diagnosed. Keane does have a pleasant side to him and that shouldn't be overlooked but its just a shame that he didn't show that side too often.

leadbitters not a bad player but in our current team he's the weakest link by a mile, if we can get some decent money for him, i say take it and run. he can be replaced quite easily, probably from within existing squad.

Who gives a ****? It's not going to make an ounce of difference to our future either way and we won't be signing morons like him anymore with PJ at the helm!!!

Professor Plum - fair point. IF he does a Norris then he's a moron, for the time being he's negotiating the best contract he can.

How often do players accept the first new contract offer.......probably never..!

Personally I would like to see him stay, he had been made the scapegoat for our poor start to the season, he was not alone in playing ****e early doors this season, or over the last couple of seasons.

It is interesting having just compared player ratings for the last 4 games on TWTD, he is probably the 2nd highest scorer of the 4 midfielders over those few games.
He has better quality around him now so can now concentrate on his own game a bit more, there is clearly a good understanding forming in our midfield, that has been more than a match for our last 4 opponents. Long may that continue.

Hoppers I agree to a point but Leadboots has been shockingly bad (the goal he gave away at peterboro) as just one example. He is supposed to be Captain and should be leading by example and quite frankly he has been a disgrace to the shirt. <ok>

A disgrace to the shirt you say? hmmm.......

Gwant is worth keeping and with some confidence, a suitable system and familiarisation with team mates he will be an essential part of our team for another 3 years.

Bowyer and Bullard are not long term options.

Rather than being given a chance to shine with better players around him?

Not that you've got previous or anything for your patience to all things ITFC related ;)

I'm not annoyed that he has rejected his new contract. Im more annoyed that we have offered him one on the strength of 1 months worth of decent football. I would honestly prefere to see him walk next summer for nothing than tie him to the club for the next 2 years unless he can keep his current form going until Jan and beyond.

A decent player will look a decent player regardless of the ****e around him. The teams performance as a whole will suffer due to the overall quality of the players but an individuals shouldn't.

I think you've answered the question in your reply. Give him until January to decide if he's a keeper or no.

Methinks playing with illustrious midfield colleagues will bring the best out in him. Not trying to cover Norris' arse all the time will help.

I think nearly 40 years of patience is quite a long time wouldn't you agree!

To all those who think Leadbitter should be given a better contract, Do you think that he is worth 'potentially' being the highest wage earner on the playing squad with the longest contract?

Or you could look at it this way, a player like Bullard came into a struggling squad and made a difference, so why if Leadbitter is worth more than him was he not already shining, because he hasn't got the class? thats why i think we should let him go and get a better player on less wages.
