    Has passed away.

    Another of my personal football icons gone too soon. That 82 world cup was special and so was his performance in it.

    Great player similar to Bergkamp i remember that world cup the Italians were brilliant all over the pitch.

    He was superb! I was a kid and only saw him play in the World Cup but it stuck!

    Bloody brilliant , brilliant player that lad.
    For the younger ones who haven't seen the film of him , have a look at what there is, including the 78 World Cup if you can find it. Not very tall and built like a stick insect. But ultra rapid , and ridiculously tough and brave when defenders could just kick you or block you and retreat to defend a free kick.

    The great Enzo Bearzot's finishing touch to a fantastic and revolutionary Italian side. One of my favourite sides of all time, and they won me a canny wedge!
