Don't want to be controversial and sound ungrateful to Sir Niall - and to some extent I agree with what he's saying! Just feel he needs to give it a rest! He sounds as though he's on a holy mission to ban the illegal screenings. I just think he needs to change the record and use a different approach. The basic economical situation suggests things are going to get tight for most so has got to be a key factor - He's good at generating support otherwise - I just feel he needs to change his tack instead of brow beating!

The mighty Quinn is right and perfectly entitled to make these points. He put his money and his reputation where his mouth was many years ago when we were rock bottom. He's entitled to show his frustration that there are those who are willing to spend a shed load on beer while watching illegal viewings of games and complaining that they can't afford to attend.
I understand what you're saying mate, and I'm pretty sure Niall wishes he had worded it differently. We all want more through the turnstiles, for myself the carrot approach would be the way, not the big stick.

i agree that the big man is entitled to make these points but if the games weren't shown in pubs or online, i doubt it would make much difference in our attendances imo. maybe dropping the prices would help, (ã3.50 for a pie ffs)
