There needs to be a general enquiry for all examples of cronyism, including the latest that Carrie Symonds’ best friend has been given a £350 per day consultancy job, that wasn’t advertised or opened up for applications. Only a small job, apparently, but that isn’t the point.

Can I just say how useless the test and trace app is for informing you of possible exposure. I live in London and have had a notification 4 or 5 times of possible exposure, and that the app is trying to determine % of likely exposure, timings/location etc... you click on the notification and it takes you to the landing page on the app. No information whatsoever, you can’t even access a log of notifications. Just info on what tier London is in.
Similar here in the Netherlands with the same problems with discipline and compliance with rules and regulations, enforcement a joke.
Just seen the first person in the UK has got the vaccine. I must admit, that although some may say it was a bit much, the cheering as she was wheeled down the corridor actually made me see the good side in humans. The world pulled together and got a solution to the problem in record time. I wonder what we could all achieve in other areas if the globe pulled together rather than let race, religion, sexual leanings, politics, self promotion etc get in the way. On a lighter note, from the BBC in the same article...surely this can't be right "The second person vaccinated in Coventry was William Shakespeare, 81, from Warwickshire"
We have definitely seen both the best and the worst of humanity over the past nine months. I just wish that it'd been in equal measure.
The best is the majority of the population...it's just that the unpleasant and plain idiotic are more visible and noisier.
