Good Morning. It's Monday 7th December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Leeds outclassed at Stamford Bridge

Leeds suffered their third defeat from their last five Premier League games on Saturday evening at Stamford Bridge, West London.

Chelsea were far the superior team, which is not a surprise when you consider it has cost Roman Abramovich almost seven times as much as what Radrizzani has had to pump into the transfer kitty at Elland Road.

Leeds latest defeat has meant they have conceded three or more goals in all three of their latest defeats.

We can point fingers that Llorente was thrown in at the deep end after Koch's injury forced the German International to take an early bath after just 5 minutes. Llorente returned to first team training two weeks ago, and to be honest, nothing is going to get the 29yo match fit than being pushed to his limits against one of the best teams in Europe!

Where did it go wrong? Unfortunately for the Whites, both Phillips and Klich had poor games. If there were two players in the team you'd like to rely on, it would be these two! Unfortunately Chelsea kept them quiet.

As normal, whenever Leeds suffer a defeat, the social media boo boys come out to play, and point the finger. Unsurprisingly, Dallas, Alioski and Harrison were easy targets. Let's remember that Alioski and Dallas cost us a combined 5m; they have more than fulfilled their price tag. Harrison on the other hand had less touches of the ball than Meslier! Is it time to drop the on loan Citeh winger? Who would you replace him with?

Harrison was replaced by Poveda with 30 minutes left on the clock. The former Citeh academy ace had a fantastic opportunity of equalising against Frank Lampards team with five minutes on the clock.

The 20yo got the better of full back Ben Chilwell, and was then clipped by the England International. Instead of going down (in a blaze of glory), Poveda stayed on his feet, regathered his composure and struck the ball down the throat of a grateful Chelsea defence.

Former Liverpool and England midfielder Danny Murphy went as far as saying by not going down, Poveda cost him team a point! "He’s cost his team a point as he knows he could go down and it would be a penalty at the moment with the rules being what they are."

    Agree or not?

    Managers reactions after the game

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard: "I was nervous of Leeds. They're a threat until the end if you don't get a cushion.

"They are pretty unique in their style and they're well coached. We knew it was a big task. Character-wise and performance-wise, on lots of levels, I'm absolutely delighted."

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa: "It was difficult for us to stop them playing out from the back with their centre-backs and [midfielder] N'Golo Kante.

"I never question the refereeing decisions and this game was not decided by the referee. He did not decide the game. Always defeats are an opportunity to learn something."

Millwall fans boo as players take the knee

Millwall fans created a massive divide at the weekend; not only in Bermandsey, but all over the Country!

It all started moments prior to kick off where Millwall were entertaining Derby. Customary, both teams 'took the knee'. The gesture was met with load boo's over selective parts of the New Den!

Whilst many have taken the easy route and condemned the South London fans of racial excitement, there have been many that have leapt to Millwall's defence, including Cabinet Minister

Environment Secretary George Eustice jumped in at the deep end stating :- 'My personal view is that Black Lives Matter, capital B, L, and M, is actually a political movement, which is different from what most of us believe in, which is standing up for racial equality.

'But look each individual can take their own choices about how they reflect this. I know a lot of people feel quite strongly and have taken that approach.' 'There has been problems obviously with racism in football in the past. It is right that that is called out and challenged when we see it.'It doesn't have any place in society today and if people choose to express their view in a particular way that should always be respected.'

Actor and TV personality Laurence Fox agreed. ‘Kneeling is a gesture of subservience and submission in our culture. People must feel free to demonstrate their abhorrence to racism in their own way. Insistence that the knee is the morally superior way enforces religious rituals. I’m not sure the county agrees.’

As you can imagine, these two are in the minority. Many, including jumped on the bandwagon, rather than making a stand! Outspoken journalist Piers Morgan told Millwall fan 'Don’t you dare pretend the Millwall fans who did that have “taken black players to their hearts”. Their black players like Mahlon Romeo were heartbroken yesterday. Understand THAT.’

Do the clubs / players feel forced to take the knee?

How many people are scared to voice their own views in case they cause offence to one side or the other, and are labelled a racist because of it!

Amazing really how woke and idiotic our mainstream media are and all our politicians EXCEPT THE TORIES who are the only par fighting back against BLM and standing up for Milwall fans. Government ministers are quoting a poll from last week which shows that 72% of people think that BLm has made race relations worse. They also said normal people saw what BLM protesters did in London attacking police, statues and trying to set the Union Jack on fire. Football fans will not accept their players taking a knee to a marxist political movement and BLM is now a political party. Amazing really how only the tories get peoples views correct and Im no tory but brexit and woke culture they get.

The FA should get another vehicle to cut out racism, not BLM

Well if that's not a racist stance then nothing is that No. 13 Kasim is posing, maybe if he wasnt a footballer he might of become a suicide bomber.

The sooner we get fans back into grounds the sooner this rubbish will end, then just watch all the various commentators jump on the band wagon as they say taking the knee as run its course.
I've come to the conclusion that most of these commentators know fk all about football and even less about human nature.
I'm fed up of being told what to do and what to think.

Can i just say, well said doc <applause>.
And about saturday, well done to the team as we were not embarrassed by one of the most expensive football teams on the planet, the lads & Bielsa are learning from this brief spell so far of premier league football, and already we are looking like a top ten side. MOT

As I mentioned before and not afraid to admit it I have leanings to the left but not to the extreme. That doesn't make me a snowflake but I try and have a balanced view. I abhor racism and prejudice of any form and agree that the issue of racism does need a vehicle to raise the profile and look for solutions.

I believe that games should remain non-political but that doesn't mean that the FA can ignore the issue of racism in the game. Taking the knee as a gesture of support was a good thing but it has run its course in my view and continuing with it is becoming counter productive as demonstrated by Millwall fans. I suspect there are many more fans who will react in this way in the coming weeks or at least sympathise with Millwall. As I say this is counter productive for the cause and deflects the focus away from the issue at hand. It also doesn't do the club any favours at all and impacts their reputation although in Millwalls case that won't take much.

In summary I don't want to see the kneeling continuing at games but a clear agenda from the FA to address racism needs to be put in place to reflect the feeling shown by the kneeling to date.

<laugh> yes you're right it is a political salute and the authorities should stamp it out. Imagine a player doing a seig heil salute. I'd ban any religious gestures too, because as an Atheist I find it offensive.:)
