New manager has a chat with a shareholder. I'm absolutely outraged here like, fuming I tell ya.

We've always wanted to sack the board though - whoever they were!

Been saying stuff like this for ages. No matter what we do to protest, nowt will change unless those in charge want it to.

I have no doubt the takeover (or investment and rejigging of shares) is happening. I’m just being cautious as to SD & CM’s control, and I’ll be the first one to hold my hands up and say I was wrong and over cautious in my assumptions.

I believe and appreciate the info given by Prehab, Magnus & Smug. I don’t like the abuse they get for putting their neck on the line and keeping us all in the loop. Smug especially has taken a lot of flak for no reason at all, we all knew FFP were going to take over the club, I had someone at the club confirm it to me also. The way he’s been vilified as some fantasist is absolutely ****e, given he was just passing on positive news to keep morale up of a demoralised fanbase.

Don’t think I’m a doom mongerer just dismissing everything - I’m just being cautious.

To be fair we have been given the impression that Donald isn’t involved anymore. This shows us currently that he very much is behind the scenes. I’m positive about the direction we’re taking and it wouldn’t be Donald’s doing, but equally I won’t rest easy until those two disrespectful ****e hawks are bought out and gone.

I agree with all you’ve said. I’d like to have clarity the same as you. I guess what I was saying is that maybe those in charge/going to be in charge don’t think the same way as us!

That being said, he is still currently the major shareholder and even if it has all gone through he would still be the person with the largest % of shares in the country.

The difference this time is that any discussion he may have had with Johnson will have been scripted for him. Worth bearing in mind that if he wants any form of payout he'll need the club to succeed and as such will have been told in no uncertain terms to toe the company line. All in my humble opinion of course.

  10. I think we may all have laboured under the impression that because SD had distanced himself from the day to day,he had somehow lost all interest. Also, many have the feeling that the takeover by the new owners would in some way be hostile or antagonistic, that SD would be playing difficult, holding out for more, not willing to let go,but this isn't necessarily so.
KLD,JS and SD could be on very good terms and it wouldn't be beyond possibility that KLD may have said to SD for him to have a chat with Johnson. As we understand it SD will still have a stake in the future of the club and it would be understandable if he wanted to meet Johnson himself to confirm opinion,of which KLD would take note.

Stewart Donald has also spoken to @janey as well.
Of course he has to have some input, he is still the owner, imagine a manager being interviewed and the owner doesn't speak to him. Irrespective of how many shares he is going to have, SD needs Sunderland to be successful. I don't like the man and Id rather he pissed off altogether, but it isn't going to happen. There is absolutely no gain in getting soppy underwear because he has spoken to the new manager whilst ignoring the line that there are the others on the advisory board whom he hasn't spoken to as yet.

There’s people been getting a lot of stick on here for sceptical and negative. How many times have I read on here ‘ how can people think a billionaire will be bossed around by Donald and methven etc’ Then guess what , our 3rd choice manager comes out and tells the world it was donald and rodwell who he had talks with. Why didn’t sartori do it if he’s going to be hands on? Why didn’t the french lad do it? Yeah it’s a takeover but it’s looking more and more likely the same old incompetent faces pulling the strings. Bout time a few people got real and admitted the takeover isn’t as fantastic a picture as they were painting or genuinely thought.

Can you imagine if Rodwell went to the EFL and then blocked KLD's purchase/investment or whatever?

Never going to happen and I'm only joking but can you imagine the meltdown if it did?

My thoughts exactly, SD needs the club to be a success to get his money back and is technically still in charge until the deal is done, so he's bound to at least speak to the new bloke.

This appears to be the start of a bright new dawn and it will be nice in the next few weeks to talk and read about things on the pitch rather than the boardroom

Tbf I read yesterday that KLD and Sartori will be absent owners, based in other countries, will people running the show on the ground here. That looks plausible with rumours of the various structure being set up and if the right people are in place I've no worries with that.
If Donald, as part of that structure (he is still going to be a shareholder) is asked to get involved in this process, the likes of KLD and Sartori a) can't do anything about it as they don't own the club yet and b) are probably happy and confident for him to be involved.

I'm in the positive camp and have had many disagreements on twitter with the likes of WMS guys and the pessimists over this. However I'm afraid they will have a point here.

It's frustrating, but the story yesterday had no sources attributed to it, and this one has direct quotes. I fully believe that he's spoken with all the owners, however there's zero to prove KLD's involvement still, and these possibly mis-timed quotes from LJ have only proved SD's continued involvement (which as current majority shareholder is understandable). In fact the direct quotes from LJ suggest he hasn't spoken to anybody else from the leadership team other than SD, JR and Speakman.

As I say - I'm firmly in the believing it's happening / as good as done camp. But this could really do with clarifying by the club as soon as possible.

Johnson is quoted as saying he spoke to Donald. No mention from him about Sartori or other new owners. That directly contradicts yesterdays rumour?

I think we need to wait and see what the take over ends up looking like when its announced.
For me the end game is all important. To give us a better structured forward thinking club that delivers on the pitch
Hate this I'm right you're wrong bollox
End of the day its what the takeover delivers that matters and So far so good.
