Wasn’t bringing Sartori on board Donald’s way of showing intent to change the club?

I can just imagine a guy as wealthy and politically ambitious as JS being a puppet of an upstart insurance broker.

Here's a thought outside the box...

Sartori came in with them as a foot in the door. If it went well he was happy, if it didn't he had options.

He distanced himself both because of the elections and because he wasn't happy with how SD was running things, and later on it became quite apparent that Methven wasn't happy with SD either. Sartori then thought enough is enough i'm taking over and brought in Dreyfuss to fully take over.

I think we as a fan base need to be careful. We’re retaining the same owners with new investment and are reliant up on a minority shareholder suddenly becoming a lot more active than he has been for 2 and a half years.

He was/is a minority shareholder who did not get on with SD so was not as involved as he had fell out with SD he probably can’t wait for him to walk in to the sunset then he will get to work as the two chancers will be in the minority and him and the new owner will have reversed the power point .

There is no evidence of this at all. Imfact the strong rumour is they rarely speak these days after a fallout

Donald and Methven can only dream to be in control when it comes to their relationship with Sartori, there's a major difference between being Rich and being wealthy. I see their relationship more one of convenience than friendship for both parties.

I haven’t heard or read of any fall out between SD and Sartori.

Would certainly put my mind at ease if this is true.

I just want the club to thrive ladies and gents - I will never let myself get carried away with blind optimism again.

Why would it be made public if they did have a falling out? I have no idea either way if they’ve had any disagreements but if they did it’s none of mine, yours or anybody else’s business.
It’s like this takeover stuff. The evidence certainly suggests it’s happened or at the very least is going to happen imminently but because there hasn’t been a huge announcement saying KLD IS THE NEW OWNER OF SAFC - YOUNG FRENCH LAD TELLS DONALD AND METHVEN TO DO ONE, it hasn’t happened according to some.

Rumours of a fall out between Sartori and Donald have been floating about for over a year, but at pretty low level. I heard last summer, late June or early July before Campbells takeover failed, but it was nothing more than "apparently they (Sartori and Donald) have fallen out". No more details, I can't pin down specifics, but there's enough circumstantial evidence to say they certainly aren't as close as before, you can point to some time between the Checkatrade and play off finals as being the most likely time when things changed, but maybe it happened earlier or later. I know they were both together at the Checkatrade but Sartori was no where near Donald at the play offs.
Add in the rumours of Tony Davidson falling out with Donald contributing to his leaving and it definitely looks like Donald has very few friends or allies at the club these days. His only advantage was his shareholding, and that's now diluted with this take over.

Anyone having problems with this site tonight?
Taking ages for pages to load up, and noticed quite a few double posts.

EFL eye up Sunderland's Jim Rodwell for new chief
Sunderland's Jim Rodwell is wanted by the EFL to replace outgoing chief executive Dave Baldwin, who will leave next year after less than 12 months in the job.
Rodwell was previously a director of the EFL while in charge at Scunthorpe before moving to Sunderland. There he has been instrumental in negotiating the club's imminent takeover by Uruguayan businessman Juan Sartori and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, son of former Marseille owner Robert Dreyfus.

Interesting one. Personally I'd like him to stay because he seems to be doing fine and a bit of continuity while everything changes might be a good thing.
