http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/derby_county/9371969.stm Bit disapointed, but think we have a good pairing with Gerrard and Chester. Hopefully we'll be able to sort Gerrard out on a perm come the end of the season aswell, which we'd never have been able to do with Ayala.
I get the feeling from Ant's tweets on Twitter he is leaving his options wide open. He doesn't sound (from his comments) to be massively interested about staying here at the end of the season, but at the same time I think he's open to it should he not see himself back in favour at Cardiff.
"We're pleased to bring Daniel on board for the rest of the season, especially as he has been in demand. " Strange Clough didn't mention that Ayala was desperate to come back to City and he had originally said he would rather rot in Liverpool's reserves than go to Derby!!
It's a shame but Chester is a cracking replacement and we have him permanantly to develop. Surprised we've loaned out Cooper again though. Is there another CB waiting in the wings?
I really like Gerrard, but if he doesn't end up coming to the KC permanently at the end of the season, we will probably get either Hobbs or Ayala on a perm.
Listening to Sven i think he see's Hobbs as a long term player at Leicester but they are just wanting him to gain games this season. So firstly doubt he would come here, can we gurantee him games? Me personally i would play him but unsure if Np will as that would involve a lot of changes. Secondly does that sound like he is going to sell him in the summer as i doubt it if he sees him long term.
If Gerrard does get another chance at Cardiff and decides to take it then good luck to him, he's done fantastically well for us this season. I'd be very happy if we got either Hobbs or Ayala to partner Chester next season.
Leicester fans think he is out of favour and NOT in Sven's plans. As for guarenteeing games, if we don't get Gerrard at the end of the season we may try to sign Hobbs to partner Chester as first choice defensive pairing.
Gerrard has promotion clauses in his contract so if Cardiff get promoted he wouldn't walk away from a contract much bigger than we could offer. It's a shame really as he probably wouldn't even play much for them. I think if they don't go up he would probably move to city.
It's a bit of a mute point anyway as Cardiff will NOT go up. Forest will join DQPR as Auto and Leicester or us will win the play-offs.
